Pliko Pramette

Honestly, what's this pram like? I just like that it's light and a pram at the beginning. Live in a flat with 5 stairs up to it so think it should be ideal.
There are such mixed reviews- MN has pretty good ones and then there are some quite negative ones out there too.
I just want to hear that it is ok so I can go ahead and order it.
Oh, is it ok for air travel? Will be on the plane quite a bit. I see you get a travel bag with it - does this work well?

we still use it two years on, looked everywhere in a bid to replace it as it is heavy to push a toddler in, and clunky to carry up stairs, but not found anything which weighs less, with great sun canopy, suitable for newborn, decent and easy-ish fold...sigh. until the perfect pram is invested, it's he closest there is!

It's ok. I'd get the pliko switch if I were to get it again but it wasn't out when I got mine.

It's the lightest and smallest pram I think, and as naomi says the sun cover on it is great.

I mostly use my maclaren now though and have since dd was about 6 months old. Was great for a newborn though.

Thanks for the messages girls!

Yeah the switch is tempting too but weighs extra

I'm tempted to just get a Maclaren from birth e.g. the XT but I just think a pram is nice for a newborn to lie in - more cosy.

Any comments on plane travel with the pliko pramette? Does it fit in the travel bag ok once it is folded up? Hope so...

I had one which broke so many times I vowed not to buy anything else from M&P and then went and bought a Ziko and am on my 5th one after the rest breaking.

I would never shop with M&P again - their customer service is crap and their products IMO aren't much better!

I have pramette, and really liked it. I used it as a moses basket in the house when my 2 DC were little. I also got the viaggio car seat which fits on to the pramette which worked well for me, but it depends on whether you are going to be driving much.

It was never a problem on planes.

The only thing if you are going to be bringing your pram up stairs, is the wheels are quite small. I also have a Jane powertack 360 which has big wheels, and it is so much easier to bring up & down stairs because it just bumps over the wheels, although it doesn't fold up as neatly, and wouldn't be practical for planes.

naomi83 · 07/05/2009 14:51

don't get the carseat that goes with it, it's crap, get a maxi cosi!

I think it would be good on a plane, it's easy to fold, the carry cot functionality is great (I used it as a carrycot inside too), it 'drives' really well over smooth ground and it's got a big shopping basket.

I agree the customer service can be very poor, the carseat isn't the best (we didn't get it), if well used it won't really last more than one kid, and it's rubbish over bumpy terrain.

On balance, I would probably not buy it again but I walk a lot an so 3 wheeler is best for me.
