Cheap occasional pushchair for mostly walking 2.8 year old?

At 2.8 he's a pretty good walker, and we don't really need the big buggy anymore, but he's still too little to be expected to walk long distances or be on his feet all day if we go out on a day trip.

I don't drive, so it needs to fold up small for the bus, and ideally is really lightweight and has a carry strap so I don't need to push it when not in use. It doesn't need to recline, and I'm not bothered about raincovers or hoods or anything.

Any suggestions?

Ooh, it does look nice - but maybe a bit expensive for me. I'll see if I can track down a second hand one maybe.

Thanks schneebly, the chicco is definitely more in my budget. Do you have one?

I'll look out for a second hand volo too.

not that particular one but I did have another chicco buggy which I bought second hand and was quite happy with it. Used it from when DS2 was 1.5 to 2.5 when we gave up buggy. I agree with others that Maclaren are well made but I wouldn't bother paying out for one when DS is 2.8 unless you get a used one for a bargain price

Try asda, they have a basic model under £20. Good for a toddler as a travel buggy, folds, lightweight, great for the bus.

I recently got two of the Chicco ones that schneebly linked to and they are great. Well they certainly serve their purpose. I got them for our 16 month old DTs for when we are out with two adults as easier than a double, but DS1 (3.2) also likes going in occasionally if I take him into town on his own when he is tired.

Comes with removable hood and raincover (even though you don't need them!) and has a carry strap. Folds down easily IMO.
