Best lightweight stroller suitable from birth not Maclaren XT as handles too high

I need a lightweight stroller to attach a buggyboard to take on buses, as my Phil&Ted is just too heavy and big for a London bus.

I have a Maclaren Triumph but baby still only 6 weeks old. The XT's handles are too high I'm only 5ft any ideas?

The cheaper the better would be a plus as it would be an occasional buggy.

apparentrly the o baby ones in mothercare are good.not sure if they suitable from birth though

differentID · 01/05/2009 22:17

The o'baby ones are from birth, but would definitely need extra padding to make it really comfy.

Obaby Vintage, Britax Nexus, M&P Pulse.

The first 2 are both on offer in Boots, plus you get Advantage points.

nappyaddict · 01/05/2009 22:33

Silvercross Dazzle has handles which are 100cm at lowest point and 108cm at highest point so that might be good if your DH is a lot taller than you.

pulse has a 108cm handle height which is way too high. obaby and nexus have mixed reviews. dazzle fits the bill but expensive, looked on ebay and not many offers want under £100 ideally

hi i ordered a obaby earlier in the year as a stop gap thought i would hate it but very impressed with it for the money! only cost me £60 in mothercare i had the vintage one in all black. would recommend.

cece · 02/05/2009 07:46

chicco lite - not sure how high the handles are though. Can be bought from Mothercare.

iwantitnow · 02/05/2009 08:19

chicco lite 109cm. will look at obaby again as would only be used once a week

Iwantitnow I have an excellent condition dazzle for sale. If you're interested the thread is here

nicolamumof3 · 02/05/2009 17:50

definitely worth considering!

naomi83 · 03/05/2009 06:55

why don't you just use a carrier/sling for baby and triumph for toddler?

mamadiva · 03/05/2009 08:37

How about the Chicco Winter London stroller?

You get all the extra's with it so no extra cost, I know loads of people at mother and toddlers who use it and have done for ages so is sturdy too and can be used from birth also works well with Lascal basic buggy board IIRC!

PeppermintCream · 03/05/2009 08:54

Argos have the m&p aria on special offer at the moment £69 you can buy online

iwantitnow · 03/05/2009 11:41

Ordered an obaby although like the look of the chicco winter london. Will see if I get along with the obaby if not send it back.

Sling and Triumph not really an option. I've tried 4 slings so far and DS is to heavy to carry for long distances - can't wait to use my Ergo at 4 months though. You also can't really try clothes on with a sling. I'm planning to use it to nip to shops while DD is at pre-school in the mornings.

Got a lovely Phil & Ted Dash but not London bus friendly so not looking for another double.

You can get an insert for the Ergo which means you can use it with a newborn.

Which Obaby did you get?
