Our kitchen is being painted tomorrow.
As usual I can't make a pigging decision.

It's north facing, 2 windows (one on N wall one on W).

Walnut floor and work top, cream units.

Samples I have tried include:

Skylight- lovely but ? cold
Greenblue- too dark?

calamine- wishy washy (lovely elsewhere though)

was wondering if anyone had got skylight up? Or whether a greeny white like shaded white looks nice?

also...what's elephant breath like? looks fawny on colour card but is it more grey.

[hopeless emoticon]

What about French grey or lichen? Nice shades of green.

KristinaM · 27/04/2009 20:20

i have F&B light blue in the kitchen. the units are walnut and light blue over white and the worktops are elm and granite

the ceiling and woodwork is white and there are three doors - so quite a lot of white

the room is north facing but with tall windows and a high ceiling

the Light Blue looks greyish but that's what i wanted as it works well with floor which is very warm. we also have a cream aga.

i agree, french grey is lush

SparkyFartDust · 27/04/2009 20:29

Thanks for messages.

French Gray & lichen are lovely- but am not brave enough or visionary enough to choose strong colours.

what do you think shaded white/ pale powder would look like? Bland?

I have got Teresa's Green in kitchen - too strong for you? I am very happy with it, and I think it would go with your other colours.

I agree Skylight is rather cold - I considered it for sitting room, but went for Parma Grey in the end which comes out as a light blue.

I heart your kitchen KristinaM.

KristinaM · 27/04/2009 20:40

thank you

OMG KristinaM, yes, it is lovely!

I might try Light Blue in my bedroom.

Funny, you have a blue that looks grey, and I have a grey that looks blue. Good old F&B!

KristinaM · 27/04/2009 21:41

we obviously have similar taste as we considered tereasa's green, especially as we originally were going for an oak floor and the blue/green colours are lovely with the golden oak.

thanks you for your kind comments about kitchen. it was a lot of work but but t'was not expensive

sparky - i woudl be tempted by french grey to go with walnut and cream

well what colour did you go for? [nosey emoticon]

SparkyFartDust · 29/04/2009 20:02

went for very safe option- shaded white. It looks lovely. Very calming, very easy to live with for now. It's a light sage...nice.

The decision was made harder by my partner wrinkling his nose up at every sample I tried (which were many). So in the end opted for compromise and am happy with it.

Haven't taken the time to make a profile, but when I do will put some pics up so that you can see.

looking forward to your photos

you are very reasonable to compromise with your DP - my Dh thought it was the undercoat
