Come talk to me about Maclarens

Not even pregnant with DC1 yet, but thinking about all the necessary kit, especially pushchairs.

Having worked in the childcare industry I do know a fair bit about what's around, but wanted to ask specifically about the various Maclarens, as we plan to get at least 1, even if it's just the 'lightweight' of our 2 buggies.

So.

We have thought about getting a larger 'main' pushchair, i.e. iCandy, Bugaboo (although not particularly keen), P+T, etc. and then a Quest as well, or....

just have a Techno XLR as our only, and possibly a Volo later around age 18m+ for travel.

Any opinions on any of them? Thanks in advance.

I would get an XLR. It does from birth right up to 4/5 years.

so does an xt, xt is a better choice, honestly i've had both. xlr is too big/heavy.

How about this?

I really don't like Mamas & Papas puschairs, nor Silver Cross - but my absolute #1 hate of pushchair make is the Quinny. Also really don't like the Stokke ones.

The only ones I'd really consider are Maclarens, Graco, iCandy, Phil and Ted, and possibly Bugaboo although I think they're overrated and overpriced to an extent. Great for small babies but too much faff for an older one.

We had an XLR from birth as like you we didn't see the point in getting an expensive one only to buy a smaller one 6 months down the line. However what I would say is that the XLR is still quite big and heavy and now DS is 9months I am thinking of getting something more lightweight like the Petite Zia star. Saying that this is because I am a car user rather than a bus/tube user in those circumstances maybe an XLR would be a better buy.
