Travel System without Pram?? Help.

I need a pushchair that is suitable for a newborn upwards with the option of attaching the car seat. I won't be taking it on and off buses so just in and out of my boot and will generally use it for walking into town and shopping, that's it.

I have seen so many reviews from everyone and am really confused. I haven't got a lot of money to spend so if possible need to keep it around £300. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

No I wouldn't say I walk very much, am hoping to change that when I have the baby but it won't be excessive I'd say.

I thought car seats were ok as long as the baby isn't in them too long, 2+ hours plus?

I like the sound of the loola. Has anyone heard anything bad about them?

If you have isofix, (or even if not) I would recommend the Recaro car seat on the Maclaren XLR pushchair. The maclaren will last you forever, and the car seat is the safest you can get. Two massive thumbs up from me... You can get it from halfords, mothercare or john lewis, and it comes in a few different colous...

Oh, and a friend of mine has the loola, and says it's quite heavy, so if your lifting in and out of boot, it might be a bother...

nicolamumof3 · 05/05/2009 19:18

loola is heavy.

xlr is good if you want a travel system, but the xlr on its on as lightweight buggy, it is not! its quite big folded and heavy for an umbrella fold. whatever you get you will probably end up with a lighter buggy around one year anyway.

XLR is good cos you can use from birth right up to 4 years so theoretically you could manage with just 1 puschair. It's not as lightweight as some pushchairs but it's not heavy either so you wouldn't need to get a lighter one later on if you didn't want to spend any more money on a second buggy.

I would choose XLR if I had my time again or on ebay there are bebe confort trophy's which are fantastic prams and now compatible with the maxi cosy car seats.

what about the petite star zia 4 or something like that.

damnitdamnit · 08/05/2009 14:28

also mutsy 4 rider lite i have this and it just about fit in my 206 (with wheels removed) you can get it with lay down car seat so it turns into a pram.

icandy cherry! dont need to buy the pram bit and fits the maxi cosi - really small and light and lovely to push!
