Can I wash my MB carrycot cover???? Anyone tried

Just bought a carry cot off ebay but the sides have dribble marks. Think I have worked out how to take off the covers, but the inside of them is just wadding that is not covered by any fabric. Thought a good handwash might do it but would prefer to pop them in the machine.

Just wondering if anyone has tried?

noooooooooo dont do it. It all crumples up and goes out of shape!

Best to take it to the dry cleaners.

I hadnt thought of the dry cleaners.

Luckily you replied as I was just sitting here twiddling my thumbs waiting for DH to get back from football and take the cover off for me! and was going to put it in a pillowcase in my washing machine!

Thanks!

I also have got a bit of mildew on my actual MB covers from where we live in a 1st floor masionette and the buggy has been stored outside in a plastic shed. We did have loads of salt and those dehumidifier things that collect water and brought the covers up when it snowed but there is still tiny bit mildew on the back of the seat where it was folded.
Anyone got suggestions as to get it off?? Have tried scrubbing in the bath with handwash liquid and a little milton. It is not really noticable but I am abit fussy!

Mildew is very stubborn. As i is mould and eats away at the fabric. I really cudnt suggest anything that would remove it. Just use some disinfectant on it so it kills the bacteria.

Another thing you could try which my mum taught me was to get the milton liquid, pour sparingly onto fabric and use a spoon and sort of scrape the mould off. Then once you see it removing, either wash it by hand if you cant remove it or put it in the washing machine.

Thanks for your reply. I did sponge with milton as soon as I found the mildew to kill the spores (my mums advice too) but just wanted to know if there was any way of gettting rid of the little black dots that remain as a stain.

Oh well, its not like anyone other than me can see them and I dont have any plans to sell my MB on for a while now no2 is arriving shortly!
