A doll for a boy?

My DS is almost 22 mo, and I think I should introduce some doll play for him (I honestly think dolls are not just for girls, there is a lot to be learnt from role play). Any ideas which brand will suit best?

Thanks

Action man?

I will find out for you where my mum bought my DS1's boy doll from. It was great. He loved it and I think boys having dolls is brilliant!!! He had a blue buggy and a blue carseat and Bottles and clothes... He had his own washing machine and still has his cooker and dishwasher.

I think it makes them well rounded human beings. I had lots of people ask me where the normal boys toys are... I just replied he plays with what he LIKES!!!

Well done you... I'll post 2moro when I've spoken to my mum...

yes you can get a little blue baby boy doll from ELC £8 and a blue buggy £6 my ds2 loves them! gets him walking much further.

Geepers · 15/04/2009 07:57

Why not just get him the same sort you'd buy a girl? Will you only buy pink cars for your daughter?

EffiePerine · 15/04/2009 08:02

DS1 not interestec at all in dolls but he loves his toy buggy (and it's pink)

PfftTheMagicDragon · 15/04/2009 08:26

Seona1973 · 15/04/2009 08:48

I bought one for CMing from TKMaxx. They had quite a big selection of dolls and accessories.

Ds was 3 when "baby Sam" arrived at our house and I explained that the doll was a CMing toy rather than exclusively his but this has been long forgotten and he still plays with the doll (ds now 6).

I get lots of funny looks from male friends and family members because of the toys ds plays with.

Because of the CMing, ds knows that the toys out in the sitting room are for everyone to play with and it never crosses his mind that people think of them as gender specific until older children come in and say "why are you playing with a girl's toy?" He usually tells them it's not a girl's toy it's for everyone!!!

good for your ds mogs0 i hate comments like that, just let them play!!

check out the Jack doll at www.1two.co.uk - as in Jack and Jill, there's a Jill doll too. Really lovely and has a change of clothes in a back pack - made of organic cotton, hand made I think, not the cheapest but really nice and would last a lifetime and probably be a hand me down....so worth the money I think.
