What's a good bike for age 3+...

...with removable pedals? I love those wooden two-wheelers that some kids have, but frankly I can't see the point if I'm then going to buy one with pedals as well.

Anyone used one they'd recommend? Preferably under £75 and one that will last until DS's 18th birthday .

definitely a balance bike - the wooden ones without pedals. You will have to get 3 or 4 bikes between now and 18 anyway at least. The first pedal bikes with stabilisers are useless and they hate them and by the time they are ready they need a bigger one anyway. My ds got a balance bike at 3 and started riding a pedal bike without stabilisers 6 months later due to the balance bike I think. Plus, they are cheaper first bikes.

Thanks xfabba, I know that I want a balance bike but I just think it's a waste of money to buy one bike for balancing and then another of the same size with pedals. Much as I like the look of the wooden bikes I won't be buying one.

Found an earlier thread, though, which suggested you can remove the pedals from any bike. D'oh! Why didn't I think of that??!
