DD had a pair of 'Ugg' boots from Next that she has loved wearing (I've heavily restricted the amount of time she wears them as I know they are not great). However, she has outgrown them and at this time of year, I am struggling to find a replacement pair. Has anyone seen any in the shops by any chance please?

TIA

not cheap, but it's not really the right time of year for the high street to have them

mckenzie · 08/04/2009 21:06

thanks very much missblythe. I think i would have happily paid the £ as they look good quality but I don't like how they are sized (5-6, 7-8 etc). I would want a single sized boot (ie size 9) for DD.

How about these then?

They had some on sale in JJB Sports.

mckenzie · 08/04/2009 21:47

thanks both of you. The JJB ones would be okay-ish saggy but online they only have size 8 so they're a no go. I will try the store direct tomorrow on the off chance they have a size 9 but if not I think I'll go for your second option missblythe. Thanks again.

Amazon have lots of emu ones at a considerable discount. They are proper sheepskin boots in single sizes and you should be able to get some for £20-25ish.

amazon emus

these ella ones are quite good - but depends what size she is (and most of them are pink)

my dd is on her second pair of these (they last just grown)

mckenzie · 11/04/2009 19:07

thanks all! Now i'm spolit for choice. The Emu ones look the best as they have some shape to the sole rather than being totally flat (in my ignorance anyway, I am assuming that is a good sign ) but they are the most expensive out of the links that you guys have kindly shown me.

The emu ones are definitely quality - I got my first pair from a v expensive local boutique and have recently bought more from Amazon for a fraction of the price. My DD has some £5.99 board angels one for fun but they do make her feet hot on warm days unlike the emus

board angels unfortunately not in your DD's size

mckenzie · 12/04/2009 20:44

thanks again mysteryfairy. How do the Emu ones come up size wise please? DD has outgrown her Next copys which are a size 8, she measures 8 1/2 at the Startrite shop but her Next summer plimsoles which definitely still fit are a size 8!!! So if they come up big perhaps i should get a size 8 but if they come up small or average I shoudl get a size 9.

TIA

McKenzie. I'm a 6/39 and that's what I'm wearing so I think they come up dead on.

In my view Next kids shoes sizes are big and I normally size down with them so I wouldn't worry about having a pair that are 8 and fit.

Personally I would get a 9 as that way you're likely to still get some wear in the autumn. I don't think boots being slightly too long is such a problem as sandals or shoes. My DD has G width feet and fitters often take her up a continental size when she gets decent boots fitted to get the width for her.
