Has anybody got a comfortable sofa bed or a pull down (from the wall ) bed?

We are thinking of buying one to go in the spare room but it needs to be decent quality as my dad has a bad back. Actually I've only ever seen a pull down bed in a holiday cottage but I'm wondering if it would take up less space overall than a sofa bed as we want to keep the room as clear as possible most of the time so we can use it as a home office.
Anybody got any recommendations for sofabeds or pull down beds? Thanks

We've got the chair versions of the Ikea Lycksele which are comfy as single beds - but they are quite large as chairs/sofa so that might not be so useful for your room. You do get "z-beds" which fold up quite small, but I'm not sure how supportive they are.

I second the ikea one for comfort, my dad also has a bad back and was really impressed with ours, in fact he had no problems at all when he spent a week here last summer! They are quite large though, folded up they take a fair amount of room, I would recommend a good measure up! They do singles and doubles. (BTW, I paid for the better - but not best - mattress option).

We got ours from Argos years ago, it is a proper sprung matress with a metal folding mechanism on a MDF box base. It is wonderful - even now! this is the current version Much nicer looking than my 1990s patterned look

DH and I have slept on it when visitors come, his 70+ year old parents sleep on it. DD loves snuggling up on it.

It is quite large though - it folds out to a double bed size (well near enough to take a double fitted sheet).
