I'm used to having DD RF most of the time and we both prefer it. I was going to get the ABC Design Zoom, or maybe the Firstwheels Ciy Twin. But at 160cm the Zoom was just too loooooong in the end and the City Twin was to broad to walk past in our hall. No RF double for us then...

I've read many many good things about the P&T range on here but TBH I really don't like the concept of the thing at all. But, I'm not in the UK and there's not a lot of choice in doubles at all. After having a really good look at all the options, practicality has had to win out and the P&T Vibe seemed like the best of a bad bunch.

I'm having a proper hormonal wobbles, have I actually done the right thing?

Everyone I know has a P&T. They look great (me, I did buggyboard/sling and single rear-facer) but they are v easy to push and take up space of single buggy.

No regrets, I am sure...

(Nicolamumof3 - Pram Expert on here, who has had about a billion and is a rearfacing fan- LOVES hers )

traceybath · 02/04/2009 22:02

I'm also getting a vibe but with reluctance as love my bugaboo frog lots.

I also wanted rear-facing and wasn't keen on the baby underneath thing but actually when lady demo'd it for me in mothercare i became convinced.

I'm going to have an 18 month gap and the vibe seems like the best solution if not absolutely ideal.

I had one of the old precurssors to the P&T. My youngest was very snug down there. Only odd thing is when he started to cry and people could here the noise but couldn't see him. By the time he was getting bored with it, my eldest was walking (lazy 22 mths) so we moved to a normal buggy. Anyway he is now 6 and it hasn't done him any harm .

NorktasticNinja · 03/04/2009 14:36

Thanks all, it'll probably be fine then. I'm just so relctant to do the whole FF and baby tucked away thing. Practicality does have to win out though

traceybath - I'm going to have an 18 month gap and am moving over from a beloved bugaboo too! TBH I think I'm going to keep the bug and get DD on a buggy board as quickly as possible so I can rid myself of the P&T whilst the resale value is still high. No idea how old DC need to be to be happy with just a buggy board though...

Well for quite a while the baby will be fully reclined flat, looking up at you (though upside down).

You do know that the second seat will also go on top of the reclined main seat, right?

(Or at least it does on the sport, so I presume it will on the Vibe)

NorktasticNinja · 03/04/2009 15:30

Yeah the little seat goes on to of the big seat on this model too but that's just for toddler and newborn isn't it? DD hasn't slept in the buggy since she was tiny so I can't really imagine her being happy to lie down under the baby... Are there options that I'm missing?

Tbh if your dd doesn't nap (though my friend's kids love being in the secret underneath bit) you might want to stick with buggyboard/sling and single... depends how much you walk/are out and about I guess...

nicolamumof3 · 03/04/2009 17:08

you will love it, there is NO perfect double i resisted the p&t until my youngest was 13m so wish i hadn't as it made my life so much easier getting out and about with two little ones. it really is the best of a bad bunch, having my time over i would get a P&t again, or possible a mb double or nipper 360!

silverfrog · 03/04/2009 17:15

P&T is absolutely brilliant. A real life saver. (can you tell I love mine?)

you get good contact with the baby when the baby is lying down - very easy to just ceck on them, and they are nice and cosy andprotected form the outside world.

when the baby gets big enough to go in the second seat, you still get lovely contact if you recline the seat - dd2 loved being able to just look up and see us. Not the same as RF, I know, but honestly, having doen both, it wasn't as different as I'd been expecting.

I have the Sport, so a little different form the Vibe, but not massively so.

It is great - I am almost sorry that mine are no longer using it! What will I do with the shopping!!???

FlyMeToDunoon · 03/04/2009 17:32

P&T is definitly the best option. It is light and very manoeuverable[sp] I wasn't a huge fan but had to get something and doorway too narrow for a side by side. I had to use a sling for a few days at one point and my back was killing me. DD2 was/is a runner offer and I didn't feel secure enough to have her on a buggyboard-she was two when I had DD3.
Agree keep bugaboo and use with buggyboard when you are happy to do so.

spikemomma · 03/04/2009 20:59

Brilliant pram. Worth every penny. It has saved my bacon whilst wrestling with two kids. It's like my pack horse. Fantastic invention.

mumof222boys i hear what you're saying - when it's time to ditch the pram i'm going to have to carry shopping bags...surely not!

claret1980 · 03/04/2009 21:17

I have a P&T Sport. It is the best pushchair I have ever had & I have had a few. My ds2 grew out of the cocoon at 4 months but he was big enough to sit in the back seat a few weeks later. Both my ds1 & 2 love it. It is so light to push, my dh loves it.

gybegirl · 03/04/2009 21:27

How old is your DD? Just ask because I borrowed my sister's double buggy when I had my DD2. There is just under 2 years between my girls.
I can honestly say now I am delighted that I didn't buy a double because a sling and single pram then a buggy board and single pram combo worked really well. The double buggy has been in the garage for months and months (DD just turned one) and was used very infrequently.
I can honestly say that if I was buying a pushchair again I'd definitely buy a RF single. I had a FF and just read some article the other day about the massive reduction in interaction between mums and babies in FF as opposed to RF. It made me quite sad.
Keep your Bug!!!

NorktasticNinja · 04/04/2009 09:25

DD will be 18 months when DC2 comes so I think we will need a double for a while. I like the idea of using slings but I didn't have much luck with them with DD, my back's not great either TBH.

I've got a Wilkinet and a Peanut Shell both of which seemed to be objects of torture Which slings would you recommend?

nicolamumof3 · 04/04/2009 09:27

i had 18m gap too and used double solidly for a good 18m, don't drive, walk everywhere, a neccisity for me!

Umlellala · 04/04/2009 10:34

I have an Ergo. Tis brilliant (albeit more expensive than you'd think), wouldn't have done without it - ds is 9mths (and massive) now and I still carry him as first choice - eg to playgroup, with dd walking etc. Only just putting him in the pushchair and having dd on buggyboard (often ends up ds in sling and dd on buggyboard - empty pushchair [hmm). I don't drive either.

BUT my dd was 2.3 when he was born and so now 3 yrs and not napping. Also I don't really do long days out much. Think if I had an 18mth gap/did lots of days out, I might use a double.

gybegirl · 04/04/2009 15:05

NN, someone has just lent me her moby sling. I used a baby bjorn initially but it's no good after 6 months (or maybe it's just as my DD was known as our pudding !). The moby is brilliant. Has a massive age range (from new baby) and really comfy - I have a bad back too. I can even feed my 1 year old in it without anyone even knowing (Gave my father-in-law a shock when he leaned over just as she stopped feeding and he got an eye full of nipple ). You can wear it on the front, side and back. Although it takes a couple of goes to learn to tie it you can actually get your baby in and out of it really easily without undoing it. The woman who lent it me never had a pushchair!
