Super lightweight buggy for longhaul holiday?

hi, can anyone suggest a good buggy for 9 month old DS for when we go on holiday mext month? has to be very very light as we are doing quite a bit of travelling round and our luggage limit is only 15kg each! we're going to malaysia so mostly the road surfaces will be good but if it can cope with rougher ground than it would help.

we already have a maclaren xt so something much lighter than that!

what about a maclaren quest or better still triumph? Triumph is lighter and you can fold it up and carry it by the long strap over your shoulder! Normally buggies are not included in your luggage allowance anyway so you should be fine if you take your xt?

Are you sure the buggy is included in your luggage allowance? If you;re travelling by coach a bit i guess it would be, but on planes they don't include the buggy in your allowance!

agree with others if inc.in luggage deffo take xt will be so much better with recline and tilting hood for the sun.

otherwise a zapp or volo but neither recline and i wouldn't want that personally for a 9m old.

I wouldn't recommend an ultra-lightweight Volo for that age, although the mesh seat would be lovely in the humidity. DS didn't really sit comfortably in his Volo until he was 18 months.

What about a Mothercare City Lite, they're not made anymore but you might be able to get one on ebay. I had one for DS and it was just over 5kg. It folds square rather than umbrella style though, so it's slightly bulky.

We always used a Maclaren Volo for holidays. The mesh seat was great abroad, in the heat. The fact that it didn't recline never proved to a problem - DD just slept in it regardless with no problem,.

hulababy how old was your dd when you used it? i dont think the pushchair is included in our luggage allowance but will check with the airline. but we're doing quite a lot of travelling and plan to take DS in a back carrier some of the time, and don't want a bulky/heavy buggy with us, so the volo might still be better for our needs.
