Have been thinking of getting one of those trikes with the handle for our DD (10 months), prob wait for her birthday - but are they any good? will we use it? is she too young?

thanks so much!

Sarah

We bought one from Morrisons at Xmas for DD3's 1st birthday - she's only been on a couple of times so far but will use more in summer - don't expect her to use the pedals for a while, but these were a great deal at £15 and I think I saw the same one in Argos for £15 yesterday.

We have just been given one for DS's 1st birthday. Been out in it 3 times so far and he loves it (of course, he could hate it in a week's time, but the signs are good so far!). He can see so much more than in his buggy, and loves waving at buses and trees (and occasionally people), and points out all sorts of things to me while chattering really happily. Steering not as good as buggy, but I can push it almost as fast so not particularly slower for getting to park etc. We went in it to our local shop to pick up milk and yoghurts, and the basket thing at the back came in very handy for carrying it!

argos

Not sure if it's same one or not - ours is by Smart Trike, but without the fancy bag and sunroof that the mothercare ones have. Looks like this one but orange.

Thanks so much for the replies
Think we are looking for one that has the plastic bit around the seat to hole them in and one with a steerable wheel (does that exist?)

We got the argos one on Sunday - it is a bargain and has features like a 3-point strap to hold them in, steering lock and free-wheel option.

It's easiest to push and steer if you tip it back slightly onto just 2 wheels, works fine.

Can you steer this cheap Argos one with the handle or does it rely on the child to do it? I am quite tempted by it too! I think the fancy ones have a lockable steering so you can shove it about just by the parent handle, which does sound easier.

Oh, post cross. Ta for answers.

I am sure someone told me some of them could be steered using the parent handle!
