Bedside cot

Am a little confused - can cotbeds initially be used alongside the bed, level with your mattress? Or is it only specific bedside cots that can do this?

Many thanks

I think it's only specific bedside cots. Cotbeds generally don't have a dropside.

Only specific bedside cots

cotbeds are BIG cots that convert into a childs bed later on (but look mazzive with a tiny baby in them!)

FWIW if I was to do it all again now I would buy a bedside cot I think they seem like a great idea

I think it can be difficult to get the cot to the exact height of your bed sometimes. They have about 8 height settings as opposed to the standard 3. Also have heard about people having a gap between bed and cot mattresses due to wooden bed frame. Can be stuffed with blankets though.

i have one(no longer in use!) and it was great, no gap between cot and bed and so easy, ds2 would cry, i would pull him over to me, feed, then push him back onto cot, loved it and am never parting with it(ebay bargain-£30 solid beech!!) highly recommended!

legislation is going through in america right now to ban these, they are very dangerous, don't do it! read this or this or to change your mind
