I am buying a digital cordless phone... would I want twin version(i.e two phones) and why?

we have been living with a really horrible, £2.99 phone from tesco, I gave in and ordered a new phone, when I eventually, after two years of not looking, found one I like.... but it only costs £20 more for the two handset option, the single handset is out of stock ...

I know I am being indecisive, but I just don't know if two handsets are better than one?

Are they just for people with big houses/or who like to have telephone conversations whilst lying in bed?

I like having a phone upstairs and downstairs so that I don't end up running down the stairs to answer it (no phone sockets up there)

go for 2 phones ! problem with cordless is that they're like remote controls - they disappear down the back of sofas / into thin air etc

Aefondkiss · 25/03/2009 14:15

ah thank you, I would never have thought of the disappearing act thing lol, and I am very good at misplacing things.... though we don't have stairs, that is a good reason too

do you want to pass judgement on my choice too? I really struggle to get enthusiastic about phones, because they don't look very nice.

this one

We got a new cordless, had always had 2 handsets and then I wondered why? We don't want a phone in our bedroom, and if you have 2 then you do misplace 1. If just 1, then you need to know where it is!
However if the single handset is out of stock, then isn't that your answer?

deffo 2. You always lose one and you can ensure that you don't end up with a phone with no battery.

Aefondkiss · 25/03/2009 14:19

It will be back in stock, 2nd week in April, I have ordered it and now I am trying to justify buying two, so I can get it sooner lol, not to anyone else but myself.

deffo get two

but sorry, dont like that one at all ...you did ask

We have 2 and usually can't find either of them and have to page them to locate them.

However, for more organised people, it is useful to have one upstairs and one downstairs unless you end up carting a single around like a mobile phone. In our house, you can guarantee the phone will ring either when I can't find one or when I am upstairs and the phone isn't.

Also, you aren't supposed to leave them resting in the phone stand so you have to take them off and leave them lying around and then if you forget to put it back for a few days it goes flat and you can't answer it when it rings. Having 2 usually means at least one is useable.

dd and dh amuse each other by doing a walkie talkie thing with 2 phones.

also when one goes on the blink you have the other.
