Phil & Teds double: older child in the back or at the front?

Hi, I'm just about to start using the doubles kit in its two-seater form (rather than seat + baby rack). I know the instructions say the older child should go in the front, but I'd prefer to have my 5mo in the front. Since my 2yo toddler will be in and out of the buggy, it makes more sense for him to be in the back. Do any of you put the older child in the back? If so, have you had any problems? Thanks.

If the child in the back is much heavier it does tip up backwards rather easily.

I used to do either depending on which child was tired. I agree the younger child will be more comfortable in the front and older can hop in and out more easily at back. It is slightly awkward when you want to recline the top seat though.

I never had a problem with tipping and found the P&T very stable. You wouldn't want to do it wiyh only the older child in the back though.

I have two toddlers, one is 2 stone the other just over 3 stone and when I put the bigger one in the back my P&T tipped. I think if you had a changing bag or something weighing down the shopping basket you might be okay but it was a pretty terrifying experience for my wee boy.

I always put my older one in the back
It has only tipped once when the older one was messing about and I wasn't holding it

Ds used to hop in and out of mine at age 3 and 4. Never had a problem with it tipping but always held on to it. I didn't really like the baby in the back because they always wanted to touch the wheels and looked more comfy in the front.

Thanks everyone. I took them out yesterday with DS (older sibling) in the back. It did feel a bit rear-heavy, and kerbs were a bit tricky, but it didn't tip at all.

Starlight, the caboose looks good. In particular, I like the fact that the toddler can choose to sit or stand. I don't think you can get a buggy board for the P&T.

My friend uses the buggy board that they sell in Argos, on her P&T, and it works fine
