I really like this, I wanted it for DD when she was born, but it was price and we got something else. Now I hated what we got to be honest, and I hardly used it as DD was in a front carrier anyway.

Likelihood is that this little one on its way will be in a front carrier too most of the time, but DH won't use it, and we will also have DD so a pushchair will be needed some of the time. So I want to buy this.

What do you think of it? Good? What are the positives and the negatives?

I had one when DS1 was little and its terrible.
A lot of children grow out of it by about 1 year as the seat it so small.
If you want it to use with your current DD then try her in one at Mothercare now. I bet you'll be surprised how squashed she looks in it!!

pavlovthecat · 17/03/2009 08:05

Edward - no DD does not go in a pushchair now unless we stuff her in amidst screaming. I am thinking more practically we might need new baby in a pushchair sometimes.

So, that is one absolute No! It does say there is an additional seat for those aged over 18months?

oh i see - i thouht you meant to put your dd1 in pram with baby in carrier.
when i had it there was no extra seat so sounds better now if there is 2 seats.
Still not impressed with it though, sorry. Seat is shaped like a car seat so cant lie flat when baby sleeps. Seat tilts back so back is flat, but then legs point up instead of being flat too iyswim. You will have to buy the carrycot for first few months.
Folds in two parts and quite bulky to fit in car et.
I've got a bugaboo bee now for ds2 and love it. Similar price but much more compact when folded. Very nippy and goes completely flat for newborn. Hood comes really far down too so DS2 sleeps in it really well even when stuff going on around him.
Have a look in Mothercare, they are lush.

pavlovthecat · 17/03/2009 08:14

Oh no! See I was going to buy second hand....but now....you have done it now Edwardbear! DH is not going to be happy i wont tell him i shall store it in the loft

seat on bee tho always looks tiny to me?

EdwardBear · 17/03/2009 09:24

Its not massive, but its comfy material and it doesnt have the bar round the edges so a taller child can sit in it quite easily.
Ds1 jumped in mine a few times when DS2 was little and he was ok in it up to about 2.5 years.
DS2 is 13 months and still has plenty of space.

ScottishMummy · 17/03/2009 09:34

it is a doozey.heavy, wide wheels base means doesnt fit on all buses, front wheels jam

imo best avoided. i had one for 3wks sold it

looks aesthetically nice
but functionally is a doozey pram

if you are dead keen try ebay

hiya,

I got a buzz as a second pram after exhaustive research! initially bought a maclaren on advice of a nanny friend who said that's what everyone ends up getting in the end having initially bought a bugaboo chameleon. was fine at first as ds just slept whenever we were out although worried he'd get cold as no sides etc. but once he started being awake in buggy, however, 4 months plus he started to cry all the time and look round for me and hated not being able to see and talk to him. Plus maclaren crap for long walks, grass, beach etc on holiday and a bit of a boneshaker for pfb as live in london so walk everywhere.

i love my buzz, its heavy but cos of the big wheels its no harder to get up to 1st floor flat than maclaren, although it weighs ywice as much, really easy to push and turn cos of the 3 wheels, was great in the snow in feb (would have been trapped in house with buggy). and with the buzz box and basket (which cheekily you have to buy separately) you've got loads of storage.

plus even though my dh was worried about legs sticking up thing esp as ds was only 5 months (but big and sitting up well) ds sleeps really well in it, esp as he has the same sheepskin from other buggy.

it is a big to fold up though.

i had heard they go too small but now they give you 2 seats and 2 sets of harness as well so apparently thats solved the problem. also think the new models have fixed a lot of the problems.

It does squeak slightly but still feels very well made and as I got mine off ebay for £240 its about £400 cheaper than chameleon so i can live with that!

i've got friends who've got bees though, which look very cute and they're happy with but think they start to look a bit small for older ones but guess depends size of your dd. (ds is pretty chunky)

lizzid · 17/03/2009 11:57

forgot to say, does seem to have stupidly wide wheel base which did annoy me at first until going into costa one day and had to open both doors (on double door fram) a man in wheelchair gave me a grin and said he always has to do the same and pointed out if there's anywhere i can't get my buggy into, its definitely not wheelchair accessible,

which just isn't on really so I thought he made a good point.

trixymalixy · 17/03/2009 12:09

It's really heavy and a pain having to fold it in two.

I would recommend a micralite toro!!

lizzid · 17/03/2009 13:19

also thought i should add in fairness that (having now become a complete buggy nerd) I am now coveting the icandy one as it converts to a double for the next one and seats face either way so if I'd known about that one I'd probably have got that but it appeared in the window in john lewis about 4 days after I'd got my buzz!

chose the buzz as it was the only one that face both ways and could fold up in one piece but everyone has different criteria.

pavlovthecat · 17/03/2009 14:59

I like the look of the microlite toro, but it is forward facing and I really would like one to face us... shame.

ScottishMummy · 17/03/2009 16:20

icandy apple a heefer of a pram a whooping 13kg,badly made and rickety. tippy in 3 wheel mode

had one sold that too

nicolamumof3 · 17/03/2009 16:25

agree icandy not all that, chassis' scratch horrendously too.

carrielou2007 · 17/03/2009 20:11

Yuk, yuk, yuk. I thought it looked really funky, loved that it faced both ways but I hated it. Heavy to lift in and out of the car, heavy to push, ugly, rubbish for off road as front wheel small and not air filled, very little storage, looks like a golf trolley!!

I bought a bug cam and loved it, sold it recently as dd turned 2. Bought a bee when she was 18 months and her head was almost touching the hood then!

Both get a big thumbs down from me.

pavlovthecat · 19/03/2009 19:35

Ok, so how about a Luna Mix then? I like them...any good? I know they don't face parent but I am anticipating her either being in a sling or asleep in the carseat anyway. I already have a maxi cosy car seat so that would mean I did not need to buy another one.

OP posts:
nicolamumof3 · 19/03/2009 19:46

does the maxi cosi fit on luna? i thought only m&p carseats fit on their prams but i could be wrong.

it is really lovely pushchair and i think good for the money too. nice and light lovely one hand push plus you can mix and match with hoods & liners. i just sold mine!

sal1309 · 19/03/2009 21:54

i must say i loved my buzz and so did dh. yes its quite heavy and wide but still liked it.

I think it is a marmite pram you either love them or hate them lol.

cant say about the luna mix i had an older luna and that was lovely.

pavlovthecat · 20/03/2009 08:59

Yes, maxi cosi fits M&P, I had a P3 before. I looked at the website and it does say this is the carseat to use.

OP posts:
pavlovthecat · 20/03/2009 09:00

No, I am talking complete shit. DDs new seat is a maxi cosi. I am talking about the M&P car seat, which I have. I am dumb ignore me!!!
