Inflatable booster seats - anyone's child ever had an accident using one?

I am thinking of getting one of these for DS when we are out and about as he doesn't like going in proper highchairs any more. The only thing is I'm not sure if they look very sturdy and am worried about DS either tipping the chair back or falling to the side if he is fidgetting.

From my experience these are crap and a waste of money. My dd tipped one way then the other, it's not steady/flat to sit on at all. And a bugger to clean.

We ended up getting a trusty plastic one which folds down, easy to clean and solid/safe. Two secure straps to attach to dining chair. They don't fold down as small as the inflatable ones though.

We found ours was fab and used it absolutely loads especially on hols abroad where highchairs were rarely available. We always made sure at least one of us has a foot around the chair leg so it didn't go over backwards. That said I can see how a fidgety child might be prone to leaning out uncomfortably far over the side. I'd never leave a child unattended in it even just turning my back. DD likes sitting at the table and never tried to tip it. We still use it on occasion and she is now 2. But it is a bugger to clean. Ours looks disgusting frankly but hey ho...!

You do need to spend a bit of time getting the straps secure around the chair and I guess on some chairs you'd never get a really good fit.

Also you need to watch that they can't push their feet against the table and tip back (but that goes with any booster).

All in all though, ours has been great and we've never come close to what I'd call an accident even though there's been some leaning on occasion.
