Cod's gonna kill me but here goes...

... can't be bothered to search archives.

Dyson has finally given up the ghost and I need a new hoover - NOW!

Henry or Miele - convince me.

Henry is cheap, I can get it online from Tesco and earn points for that too.

Got a lot of outgoings right now so don't want to spend a fortune.

Which one?

They didn't test a Miele though, tigi! (Mind you Which didn't test a Henry either.)

My Miele is very whizzy to pull about, and light to carry, dunno how Henries do for that? And it's quiet, even at full suck.

Gobbledigook · 18/04/2005 21:20

But there are millions of Miele hoovers - which one??

I love my adjustable air wattage knob... I can turn it down to a milk 300 watts and my two year old can hoover for hours...

hotmama · 18/04/2005 21:22

Got a green miele - not sure of the model. Had it for 6 years and is fab on carpets and wooden floors.

JanH · 18/04/2005 21:23

Hang on, GDG, I'll check out Which for you. (Mine is the S571 which has been "improved" since I got it but is still recommended and is the cheapest.)

Gobbledigook · 18/04/2005 21:26

Thanks JanH - that would be great cos I think you have to subscribe to Which? don't you?

God, what good timing, the report is out this month! (When I buy something the report comes out just after I buy it!)

Bosch BSG 82000GB Ergomaxx green £120 (hard to find)

Bosch BSG 71810 GB Formula can't tell colour £100

Miele S571 black £130

Miele Xtra Power 2300 red £236

Miele S4210 pale yellow £130

They have recommended the Cat & Dog in the past but not this time.

JanH · 18/04/2005 21:33

Hughes Direct very cheap very good sort of connected to Which.

unicorn · 18/04/2005 22:09

ahh.. but which one is best for hoovering up er... Cod?

Gobbledigook · 18/04/2005 22:11

Thanks Jan, you're a star. I don't have a cat and dog so shall I just go for the S571? Black and £115 on that Hughes website - do you if it's reliable as I've never ordered from there before?

Hughes are brill, GDG, got mine from there. It had a fault (cable wouldn't stay out) and they sent another within a couple of days. (And took old one away and then, when it arrived back at base, rang me to ask if I needed a refund - was tempted to say yes!) They use Citylink I think and are v quick.

Buy some boxes of bags at the same time, no extra delivery charge.

Gobbledigook · 18/04/2005 22:16

Sold!
