Help..................Food Processor has just rolled over and died.

Has any one bought one recently ???

a basic £40 kenwood 18 months ago. use it 2-3 times a week. works beautifully.

moulineux, I thought, had gone out of business so I wouldn't buy a mouli...

Are you sure it's the motor and not an (external) plug fuse or an (internal) thermostatic fuse that's gone ?

(Don't know if your machine has an internal, and I doubt it, but it's worth trying).

Just bought a Moulinex and it's loverly... they still are the kings of the food processors (just like kenwood rule the mixing world). Very surprised to hear they've gone out of business, oatcake?

It is actually the central plastic rotor, we have had it since 1900 and frozen to death, so it doesn't owe us anything.

DH is pushing for a moulinex.

Ah... looks like they sold to the company that also owns Tefal and Rowena back in 2001 so I'd assume they're fairly stable by now .

I like the Moulinex as it was the only decently sized one I could find - all the rest seem to have preciously tiny bowls. Plus many of the attachments can be stored inside the bowl which is a relief on the storage side of things. It's got very good reviews on Amazon too.

My last was a Moulinex too and it survived a very rough 10 years and constant dishwashing despite supposedly being not dishwasher proof! (The new ones are dishwasher proof).

GeorginaA, I had a small mouli blender for baby food. It croaked and I took it to the local distributor to be fixed and they told me they couldn't because moulineux had gone out of business, so yes, I was surprised to still see moulineux selling products in the 18 months that my mini blender broke...

That was probably during the transition period while they were still going through bankruptcy proceedings. Not nice to experience but probably as stable as any other kitchen appliance company on the market now...

ahh, ok. yes, I would have otherwise chosen a mouli! (last mouli food processor which kenwood replaced lasted 10 years...)
