My talented husband is making some gorgeous Keep Calm & Carry On prints to sell on ebay - We're trying to choose colours. What would you go for?

The original red - for a retro look.
If I wanted another colour then I'd choose another print - maybe that's just me!

MrsMuddle · 28/02/2009 11:33

I would go for a nice sage green. I'd love one. What size will they be?

treacletart · 28/02/2009 11:36

Think we'll have to do a classic red for sure. We've done a nice vintage green - reminiscent of 1930's enamel kitchenware. Thinking of maybe a pink or a blue but don't know what shades people would be after -powder,hot,cornflower,egg etc.. We could pretty much print them to order, but trying to get a handle on which would have the greatest demand..

50 x 70cm to fit a standard frame. And maybe a 30x 40 cm one too.

Are you sure they're not trademarked? Can a slogan be trademarked? I know they're sold by the War Museum or somesuch.

Hassled · 28/02/2009 11:39

I think I mean copyrighted.

treacletart · 28/02/2009 11:42

Well as far as I can work out they would be crown copyrighted but I'm assuming HMSO aren't prosecuting anyone - they're quite a few versions available.

According to psychologists, colours have different effects on moods. I can't remember them all, but red is passion/anger etc, yellow stimulates the intellect, and I can't remember the rest. There must be a colour that subconsciously stimulates calmness in the brain, though. Or one that gives you grit and determination? (steel grey perhaps)

treacletart · 28/02/2009 18:48

An interesting take Jux! Maybe the classic red might be more appropriate for "Panic and Give Up"! Guess though I was thinking more of what colour would look nice in your kitchen? ....

Green is calm - hence the green room where performers go to relax.

Jux · 01/03/2009 18:47

Of course MrsTittleMouse! And I used to be a stage manager!

Jojay · 01/03/2009 19:02

A pale blue is a must - loads of people use that shade in their homes.

treacletart · 19/03/2009 09:44

Mrs Muddle I've finally got round to listing a beautiful green one on ebay - let me know if your interested and I'll give you a special discount!

Treacle,

I'd love to buy one of these. If I CAT you and we set up another way of paying, we could do it without Ebay/Paypal, and avoid the fees.

Would that be okay?

treacletart · 19/03/2009 14:31

Please do CAT away MissB! Don't worry Paypal is good for me, because it's so speedy, but I can still knock a little off for you...

Not sure if its the corwn who would own the copyright but the guy who found them. they were never actually used during the war and he found 2 prints years later so it may be him.
