Help me choose a sling for my 9 month old!

I don't know which sling to buy for dd. We have been using a moby which I have found really comfortable and ideally I want something that is as comfy and easy to use. DD won't really go on my front anymore, and its quite difficult to do anything with her on the front anyway! I have been considering a patapum or a mei tai, but haven't seen either in real life. Are mei tais really comfortable? I guess i am used to loads of material over the shoulders which is what makes the moby so comfortable. LIkewise the patapum. I need soemthing that is easy to get on and off by myself, that I won't be worrying that she will fall out if she's on my back! Any suggestions?

I'd go for a MeiTai - I carry my 2.9 year old in one, and he's no lightweight !

I much prefer MTs to SSCs like the Patapum as it's easier to flick a strap over than bending your arm backwards to get through a strap. More flexible too imo.

If you are anywhere near me, I'd be glad to show you my MTs (pics on profile too)

Daisy Chain
Kozy
Toddlerhawk
Maya Tie

All very comfy Mei Tai brands with different looks. Get thee to a SlingMeet if possible too . Make sure the straps are long enough to go round baby and tie in front....the length will depend on your size. I am a 12 and like 2m straps.

cmot, love your pictures. Are they really that comfortable? I have been eyeing up a babyhawk on the bigmamaslings website- I love the pattern but don't want to spend a largish amount of money if I don't get on with it.

Yes - the only part of me that complains after 3 hours of carrying DS around (he likes to sleep on me when out and about still) is my feet if I don't have sufficient arch support.

Best thing to do is come over to UKBabywearingSwap on Yahoo, and post an ISO for a babyhawk with the pattern you like. If you don't get on with it, you can then sell for much the same

Or you can hire from a ChairmumMiow - www.babyslinghire.co.uk/

Beco Butterfly is very comfortable and easy to put on by yourself.

I use a huggababy for dd, now 18 months, still find it comforatble and can cary her for a good while before feeling tired (despite being 6 months pg). It's a ring sling and about as idiot proof as you can get which suited me as I failed utterly at all tie-you-own-knots type affairs.

I love my Rose and Rebellion carrier www.roseandrebellion.com they are on sale at the moment so not as much as they usually are and offer a 14 day money back guarantee if you don't get on with it so a good deal really. I have the wild child one it's really funky and very comfortable.
