Can anyone recommend a pram that is lightweight, goes completely flat for a new born to sleep safely and comfortably, easy to get in and out of the car, good on rough ground (but not necessarily all terrain), has a shopping basket and not too bulky for hols? Ta. (p.s. have ruled out Micralite with carrycot, buzz, Janes, Loola)

Hey someone told me there was some MB chit chat going on {grin]. cab I used mine from birth, never felt it was a problem it is virtually flat and such a smooth ride that they are snug as bugs in there. I had the carrycot and virtually never used it.... too much palaver and it did not seem to make the blindest bit of difference to ds.

yep - used it from almost birth (about 3 weeks old the first time we went out with it) and always felt it was ok. i just used the sheepskin to pad the seat out a bit and provide warmth as was a winter baby. was perfectly fine without it, also meant if they were sick could just take out the lining and wsh that rather than washing the whole buggy.
kiddicare.com have a good deal on the 2004 model of the urban and a few pounds of the 2005 model (personally find the 2005 colours abit bright on kiddicare, but you may like them)and i think the other site thats been recommended is in hub2dees link above.
i would advise looking and trying one out in a store such as john lewis, but buying over the net as much cheaper!

Had a citisport and not a huge fan. Pros: great for tube and town and public transport, being thin and very lightweight. Higher off the ground than many lightweight pushchairs. Protective bar in front, which is nice for a smaller babby. Nice big shopping basket. Cons - lightweight=rickety, thin=narrow for larger child in winter coat, hard plastic wheels so not that great for going over rough ground, doesn't lie back completely flat - just mostly reclined, hood not very substantial (though that might just be the old version) and doesn't stand up on its own when folded, can fit a buggy board, but not very comfortably.
HTH.

Thanks for the input folks - I'm still swithering away so will probably end up with a sling at this rate!
