A question for Out n About Nipper owners

The Nipper is currently my front-runner for double buggy choice (I don't like P&Ts and Nippers seem to get good reviews on here). But have one critical question. DS will be 2.2 when DC2 is born and likes to walk a reasonable amount (not enough to forego a double buggy, though!). So some of the time I would need to be holding DS's hand while pushing the buggy with the other.

So the question is, is the Nipper OK to steer one-handed?

Yes, I'd say so

it is but, it is a bit more difficult to go up curbs and things with one child in it, kinda tips to the weighted side iyswim.

Definatly I can very easily push my nipper one handed with both kids in, practicaly pushes itself with just one of them.

It does the same tippy thing with a heavier and a lighter child ime, but definately easy to push one handed.
I found with a toddler and a baby that my wrist and upper arm got sore on the toddler's side as well as it tended to want to veer off in that direction and I was pushing harder with that arm iyswim. I only tested one for a week though, so perhaps you would get used to that. I really liked it though although DH is tall and he thought the handle was too low (it isn't adjustable) but it was just the right height for me (am a shortarse)

Don't rule out a P&T though. I wasn't keen to begin with, but after extensive research it was the one that ticked the majority of our boxes and I absolutely love it now that we have it. It also has the advantage of being a single again when the older DC is walking.

Megabusset I was say yes but not easily - I would get a backpack with reins to loop over the handlebars maybe?

Where ru do you want to borrow mine? Thinking about it mine has a fixed front wheel if you get the 360 nipper I'd imagine steering would be easier but would still need two hands for curbs IMO.

Yes very good to steer with one hand.

I had the Nipper double, now got the single 360 both fantastic. I had 15 month old twins and a newborn so spent a lot of time steering one handed, now take 5 to school with a baby so often have hands full of lunch bags, book bags or holding dd4's hand so walk singlehanded the whole way. It's so light too it doesn't strain your hand when doing this.

I never had any other pushchairs the Nippers are fantastic, the other childminders I know have real pushchair envy for my Nippers, sooo glad I held onto them they make my life so much easier. I had to borrow a Mclaren type thing once-hell on wheels in comparison!!!

Thank you all!

I have just found a Maclaren Twin Techno on eBay near me so might see if I can pick that up cheaply (I have a single Triumph and love it) to try out, then upgrade to a Nipper if need be...

meg, I wouldn't recommend that at all! VERY heavy and not like a single to push.
