I want to buy my daughter a pedalless balance bike that is suitable from 18 months. She's 2 next month but quite small. Any ideas or recommendations?

DS has a Puky we got when he turned 2 and we've been very happy with it. The Islabike Rothan gets a lot of recommendations on here too, though -- Islabike make a point of making all their bikes as light as possible.

Puky does a first size balance bike suitable from age 2, but it is small and our neighbours daughter managed on it beautifully and she is very petite/small for her age.

We have the next size up learner bike by Puky and also the toddler Woosh bike, I love Puky it is so well made and hard-wearing excellent European quality.

I have a Steady Eddie, they're great quality and good value at £79.99.

My son loves it. Bought it for his second birthday and he was a bit small but was able to get used to it being around, now at 2.5 he whizzes around on it.

I know your LO is a bit small for it, but my husbandhad suggested drilling an extra hole in ours to make the seat lower. I recommend it because some out there can be quite dangerous, the steering column on a few of them can turn 90 degrees which is dangerous and leads to falling over, expecially in younger, less co-ordinated kiddies. Ours only turns a small amount left and right so is more controllable.

They send blue and pink seat covers too for passing on to siblings.

we got an Early Rider for DS and he loves it now - but it took him until about 30 months to grow into it, before that he loved playing with it and pushing it around but he didn't really "ride" it at all.

They are quite expensive but look really nice (they're wooden)
