Feel it's time to invest in one but I haven't got a clue what to buy.

I have seen that they have these traffic ones. Are they any good?

Also when you update roads etc do you have to pay?

Willing to spend about £100ish

What do you have/recommend please.

Thanks

I have a garmin nuvi 200 (I think) you literally punch in the postcode and rest of address and go! I don't use it much but need it one or two days a week for work. If you do a lot of driving there are much fancier ones.

Mine will take you the shortest route and if that means taking you up a single track lane - it will do!! Or taking you off the main road for a 20 metre then back on again - it may take more time but it could be 2 metres less so to speak - annoying!!

I need to get a new one that I can change to quickest route or avoiding motorways etc and that I can plug my phone in to make a hand's free so will watch this with interest.

Mine was originally 179.99 and my friend had it so I bought in Halfords in their sale and it was 99.99.

The are brilliant and drive you insane in equal measures!

My husband has sat nav on his phone and it drives me mad as it doesn't work if the battery is low which it generally is.

That takes us out in the sticks, up single track lanes as well.

Hands free is a good point, i didn't think of that as would be handy.

I have a TomTom 720 - it is totally fab, and the mapping is really very good and reliable. Very easy to use, and loads of extras like prestored hospital locations and numbers (plus railway stations, hotels restaurants etc etc), diff route choices, GPS etc etc. It also does bluetooth to your phone for hands free.

I drive to all sorts of places for work, and so use it a lot
