Micralite Pushchair

I looked at reviews on mumsnet for a lightwieght stroller and this ranked quite highly. Went into mothercare today and wasn't convinced about the one handed fold system. Is it just a gimmick or can you really fold it one handed?

My dd is 15 months and I want to venture out into the countryside with her this summer, not sure my pliko will handle it.

will do better than your pliko in the countryside, but have to say that not sure how much usage you will get out of it with a 15month old, will prob last till around twoish depending on how small they are.
the folding mechanism is ok once you get used to it and is perfectly fine for country walks as long as not too rugged.
my major fault with it was lack of proper recining and the way the raincover worked (fine when little but as they get older and legs over edge of seat, they can end up with wet feet).
it is a great buggy though and i can see the appeal. (i am a buggyaholic and have had a huge number of pushchairs, i think i need help!)

She is on the ickle side having not yet got to the magic 20lbs but I do like the recline on my pliko.

Any other recommendations? (you being a self confessed addict)

i would probably buy a mid price range 3 wheeler this will last until she is about three so better investment than the micralite. my friend has the newer mothercare urban detour and swears by it for both town and parks, country walks etc.
i also have a m&p 3 wheeler with a fixed wheel that i found to be good, these are about £200 but the mothercare is about £150 so better value.
it also depends on how rough the terrain is that you will be walking across, if it is all paths then the pliko will probably be ok.
the micralite is a fantastic buggy and its a shame as i have just sold mine in the freeads for £90 barely used as needed to clear some space.

forgot to mention budget and how often and where else you are going to use it play a big part in the type of buggy you should get.

I'm planning on paths and flat fields although stiles could prove to be a bit tricky.

I'll check out 3 wheelers.

Having said this I promised myself that the pliko would be my one and only pushchair. It's just they all look so funky.......

Probably not as often as I imagine

So far the pliko has been fine on country park paths so I guess I should just stick with it.

i know exactly what you mean, they do this on purpose to seduce us into buying different buggies, thats why m&p bring out so many different colours each year, they know that there are mugs like me (yes i said it) who will buy a buggy purely based on its colour.
i would def look in papers like the freeads though as fools like me are often selling almost brand new pushchairs off cheaply cos dh is going mad that he can't get his tools in the garage cos its too full of baby stuff.

M+P do a new stroller too for about £70

And there was a lovely pink spotted Maclaren Quest in Mothercare

i saw the m&p one it looks really good like the maclaren techno but half the price! i saw the maclaren quest in pink too, but don't think my ds would appreciate it and the boys version was a dull green.
to be honest it hasn't really made much difference what buggy mine have been in they have all coped fairly well with most terrains. the only real problem i have had was on the beach with a normal buggy a 3 wheeler is much better for that.

My mum lives by a beach and I bought a graco pushchair off ebay for £1.25 to drag over the sand. Saves boot space when we go to Wales.

I was embarrassed when I went to collect it and gave them a fiver

maybe not a good idea to buy things from the freeads then you'll probably end up buying them all !
the pliko will def fare better on rough terrain than a smaller lightweight stroller, its just the issue of carrying it over stiles, but if you have someone else with you shouldn't be too much of a prob!
