Best toy kitchen for a 2 year old?
Marina · 07/04/2005 20:31
Dd has to be prised off this at nursery on a regular basis and had a similar hissy fit in Paed outpatients last week when asked to leave their kitchen and come and have her ears tested
Wondered which particular models Mners recommended? Am keen to avoid anything that makes a racket but have long since thrown in the towel on "no plastic toys in my house"
Thanks for any tips. Ideally it will be one that a big brother of six will also get some fun out of...wonder if the perfect kitchen/Tracy Island dual purpose playset exists...there may be a gap in the market here.

marina, have no useful suggestions but (at nearly £800 )this looks better than my kitchen

My ds and dd have the cooker, washing machine and sink unit from this range of wooden toys. I'm very glad to say that we got it from a seller on ebay who was selling off last seasons stock and didn't pay half as much as these cost!
But they are brilliant quality so if you're looking for a toy that's going to last and last...
SenoraPostrophe · 07/04/2005 20:45
Don't think you need anything fancy. We have a bashed up old cooker and sink thing - it's broken a bit but that makes it a better toy as ds and feed things into the hole where the tap should be. Both ds and dd absolutely love it.
Where to get: found mine dumped in the street.

goodness Bundle, it's the same one they have at nursery. Wow, industrial strength playthings are pricy
I've never been disappointed with an ELC product yet so I will start there thanks Giraffeski!

My neighbour has a great Little Tykes one for her DD (2 next month), my DD (2.8) loves it too. I'll see if I can link....

Ikea Ikea Ikea. Dd LOVES the cooker, and it's wooden, and cheap, and silent!
Marina · 07/04/2005 20:59
I know giraffeski, galling isn't it! That was the exact one I originally had in mind. Poo to IKEA
Come on then Cod, when you have finished swanking, spill the beans

It falls to bits whenever we pick it up to move it into the living room so she can play with it.
NomDePlume · 07/04/2005 21:05
It's this one, can't seem to find it new though which is weird as friend only got it for her DD last Christmas ?!
