i've got some biker boots that are great in the snow. big rubber soles. about to venture out in them.

madwomanintheattic · 02/02/2009 10:23

i've got a pair of hi tec snow boots - brown with furry insides - toasty and dry this morning and 49.99

Novacane · 02/02/2009 10:24

I just use my usual cheapo ugg style boots, but give them a really good spray with clarks shoe protector, the waterproof one.

Have been out in the snow for an hour and still have dry feet!

stealthsquiggle · 02/02/2009 10:25

don't look at the price

Polgara2 · 02/02/2009 10:26

Ooh yes which ones have the best grip? Was debating whether wellies but had concerns about the cold feet issue too. Would prefer to walk to school after sliding out of a road junction in the car this morning but don't want to fall over either! So far have decided to risk hurting the car rather than me

madwomanintheattic · 02/02/2009 10:27

are they warm though stealth? they look dry and grippy...

stealthsquiggle · 02/02/2009 10:28

Yes - they are snuggy and furry inside and generally fab and on my feet as I type.

OMG stealth you mean you actually have them? I would be looking at buying a piece of furniture for that price lol.

duckyfuzz · 02/02/2009 10:32

I wore my walking boots to take DTs to school, nice and warm and not slippy

stealthsquiggle · 02/02/2009 10:34

They were a present - and I don't think that they cost quite that much. Polgara I agree - I would never have spent anywhere near that on boots. However, I can definitely vouch for their snugginess, grippiness and waterproofness (and durability - I wear them a lot

could you wear them every day? (now suffering from boot-envy) we are supposed to be moving to Canada this year and i'll need to add to my boots collection lol. i know i could leave it until we get there, but

stealthsquiggle · 02/02/2009 10:47

Madwoman - I couldn't wear them to work (office environment) but other than that I pretty much do wear them every day in winter - so yes, you could.

Polgara2 · 02/02/2009 10:51

I also now have wellie boot envy stealth! Why does nobody buy me that type of present?

Can no one suggest a more affordable option for those of us having to buy our own?

madwomanintheattic · 02/02/2009 10:55

do they come up big or small on sizing?

hah yes yorkiegirl, we won't need them then will we!

stealthsquiggle · 02/02/2009 11:53

MadWoman - small(ish) - I had to take the insole out of one as one foot is 1/2 a size bigger than the other.

As for more affordable options - Blacks and Millets have/had snowboot/wellie hybrids which are good - IME very cheap snowboots are not durable at all. Alternatively before I was given my wonder-boots I used to wear walking socks and CAT boots.
