Not that exact one but I made one out of fleece for BabyDragon and it was fabulous.

Do not buy one with no stretch in it.

I have driven myself potty with reading opinion on slings, but have deduced that the mei tai's and basic slings would be best for me. I've used a 'closer' with someone else's baby and sort of liked it but it got a bit muddled up, plus with being small (5'2") the long ends looked a bit silly.

So...in the end I picked this because the fabrics were funky and it wasn't too complex!

I'm glad babydragon and you found this type of thing successful - hope I do too! Embarrassed that my sewing skills barely stretch to button sewing because frankly, I'm sure it is perfectly possible to DIY with a sling like these, isn't it?!

Ok, I haven't ordered yet so will go and check whether my favourite fabric is a stretchy one...thanks.

Piece of cake - it's one single seam.

I still use it occasionally and she'll be 3 next week, although I can't carry her for long in it any more. It was so easy to use as there was no tying and no rings or straps to mess with.

SoupDragon · 28/01/2009 16:22

It's much easier with a stretch in it - I've also got one with no stretch at all and it really isn't as good although it does the job.

hobbgoblin · 28/01/2009 16:31

Thanks, that's interesting re. stretch. Makes sense though. I am totally with you on the rings and ties issue. I have neither the time nor patience as it is and suspect this will be even more the case with 4 children to get out of the house!

When I'd really got the hang of it and she was still a little baby, I could lean over the carseat and deposit her into it without removing her from the sling - I'd just slither out of it like a sash. Although a little more tricky, I could also put it back on at the other end of the journey

Which is one reason stretch is important

Hey soupy - as you were just on my other ebay thread thought I'd post to say this has arrived and seems fab. Very good fit on me - just need to wait for baby to be here to see if it all feels properly comfy.

Thanks for the advice
