do I need a new buggy??

I have 2 dc ages just 4 and 2.11.
the youngest has asthma and is unable to walk long distances, the eldest is very good at walking, but does tire occasionally especially late afternoons.

I currently have a phil and teds( lifesaver at the beginning) I now use it as a single and if dd tires she sits n the handlebars.

The only real problem is it is quite bulky when folded and was thinking of getting a lightweight, are there any that would fit the purpose( not keen on buggy boards) or should I stick it out?

TIA

Someone was showing a buggy where the elder child could stand or sit at the back and it was cheap like £55 or summat on ebay. Was it a Marco sky.... something hopefully someone more coherent will come along to help you too.

That sounds ideal pushchair - then I could sell P&T and recoup some of my outlay

That wasn't the name though what was it?.........

norksinmywaistband · 23/01/2009 10:38

No but the description and price sound good.

Now what is the name of it

Marcoskys are bigh huge heavy doubles, bloody awful things.

Don't think thats what you mean!

pushchair · 23/01/2009 10:42

No it was someone who had a child with SN and they sometimes had to be taken along with smaller child and had to be strapped in so as not to run off, so this mum had one of these pushchairs. She linked to them on ebay.Wracking brains and searching for you.

Disenchanted3 · 23/01/2009 10:44

oh whereits a buggy and like a platform on the back

i know what they are... hang on ...

Disenchanted3 · 23/01/2009 10:44

a joovy??

pushchair · 23/01/2009 10:46

Don't recall it being so long but may have been photographed from front. That is the sort of thing. Any good?

Disenchanted3 · 23/01/2009 10:50

I would just get a double maclaren TBH if you want something that folds smaller.

Double buggies are hefty and if you don't like buggyboards a double umbarella stroller is probably your best option.

Though i couldn't downgrade to one after a P&T, lol.

norksinmywaistband · 23/01/2009 10:52

Thanks disenchanted they look good now need to find one locally, as I think £25 postage for a well worn buggy is a bit much

Thing is I don't need the double as dd only needs an occasional rest, TBH maybe I should stick with the p&t for another few months

Or what about a buggy pod?

Disenchanted3 · 23/01/2009 10:56

You could always ask if you could arrange the courrier, then use a £9ish one. I ask this all the time.

I would stick with the P&T though, i know they are a bit bulky when folded but they push brilliantly and its great to be able to have it as a single or double.

I always end up going back to them!

Yeni · 23/01/2009 11:13

I'd stick with the P&T if you can because anything else will be very heavy to push with two older children. I keep mine as a double all the time with the little one in front and the big one in the back when she needs a rest. I know you're not supposed to do that but it is perfectly stable. I use the doubles seat as a 'boot' for my shopping when it is unoccupied.

norksinmywaistband · 23/01/2009 11:22

Yeni, I think you are right as is disenchanted, I would be disappointed with anything else.
I haven't used the back seat in moths as I just sit DD on the handlebars with her hands resting on my shoulders - stable as it is used to the weight at the back.

Ho hum, guess I just wanted a new bit of baby stuff, before they are too old.
