Before my 11 week old flies through a window, can anyone recommend a swing?

I hate the bloody things but feel I must purchase one to save my sanity.
I'm thinking of the fisher price 3-1, as there's use after 40lbs as a little chair. Or do I go for one I can sell on like the Graco (are the seats washable and do people buy them second hand?).
Needing to shop today if possible.

I got a fisher price link-a-doos second hand for £20.

I didn't know if DD would like it so didn't want to buy one new. She loved it but she got bored of it before she outgrew it - it was a bit passive for her once she hit four months so we swapped it then for a jumperoo.

Meant to say, if you are local to me you are more than welcome to borrow DD's, would save me putting it in the loft

I'm in Bristol.... [fingers crossed emoticon]

Ah, not local at all unfortunately, sorry

If it helps, I got mine by asking on freecycle (I know your supposed to give stuff away on there but someone was wanting to sell one and I was wanting to buy one).

You could try that?

The only other thing I will say is that it's probably better to get one with a big frame, even though they take up more space. My friend had a small one and after a while it couldn't swing her DD,even though she was prem and small and under the max age limit.

have you considered a sling instead? You will probably get more use out of it

hi we have a bouncy/rocker chair you can have (we livel localy and I was about to freecycle it). It's used but fine (I'm fairly sure you can stick the covers in the wash). It doesn't swing but then you dc might just want to be able to see what's goign on.
You can also borrow one of my slings if you think it might help- is the problem bubs won't be put down without wailing?
HTH
