Has anyone found one?

No sorry. i considered it with mine but decided that it would make the whole buggy too unstable - it can already be pretty top heavy on hills, up/down kerbs etc. Also it wouldn't surprise me if a buggy board caused too much stress/damage to the frame.

Had a horrible feeling that would be the answer... gutted because I love my Stokke. Have a horrible feeling that DD will decide she loves it too if she gets ousted to make room for the new baby!

Yeah, ikwym. I love mine too and held onto when i had dd#2. DD#1 was 2.5 years by that point so i decided to get a double as well on the basis that i would still mostly use the stokke with dd#1 and only go double if on a long walk. That worked well and was a great compromise.

Now dd#3 is due in 5 weeks and reluctantly i hve had to accept that i have to sell my stokke. DD#2 will only just have turned 19 months when baby is born so i have now bought a phil & ted as after lots of research have accepted that this is the most useable of all the doubles (easy to park in cafes, get through small shops etc) and will have the longest life span as can use as a single when dd#2 outgrows it.

Am sad at getting rid of my stokke tho. It is lovely. But will need a double buggy all the time soon with 2 under 2 so have to trudge off to ebay ! I suppose it depends on the age gap between your children as to whether or not you need to get a double or whether you can muddle along with the lovely stokke!

Hmm... DD will be 21mths when the next one is born. I'm hoping we'll be able to sometimes use sling and DD in Stokke and sometimes DD walk and baby in Stokke. And get a double to go with - was looking at the Maclaren doubles yesterday and they look ok for occasional use. Although having pushed friends' babies in their Maclarens I'm always really surprised at how hard going it is compared with the Stokke, which is heavy but just sort of glides.

If your prepared to swap between sling and occasional use of a double then hopefully you can keep your stokke without too much disruption. They are pretty expensive so you will defo feel better if you have managed to use it for 2 children, not just your first iykwim!

In fairness i do love my new phil and teds (it is bright pink camoflage and very yummy) but i agree that it is nowhere near as agile as the stokke. In shopping centres you can go in and out of shops and lifts with 1 hand using the stokke. It was very rare for a space to be too tight to move it through. The Phil & teds takes a lot more effort to manuvere, as is longer and not so nimble. That said it is obviously better off road than the stokke (and i'll be will be doing lots of walking everyday once baby arrives)so its swings and roundabouts i guess. have never tried a mclaren. Everyone on mumsnet raves about them but they just look like any other light weight stroller to me and they are more expensive then just a general stroller of that type. Perhaps i am missing something!

Good luck with no.2 and hope you manage to work out a good solution to your buggy problems!

xx

Fleacircus, how you getting on? I've only just found out I'm pregnant but if this pregnancy works out ok DS will only be 20 months when DC2 arrives...I want to keep my Stokke too!

cleanandclothed · 18/09/2009 19:38

When out and about the other day I saw a couple with a Stokke and 2 girls (I would guess about 2.5 and 4? The Stokke had a mini bike attached (tied on with wire). he mother said they got the bike from boots.com and improvised.

MiniMarmite · 20/09/2009 19:36

Thanks Clean, I had heard about a bike but didn't know where to get it - I'll check it out. Also found this buggy board that is a(n imperfect) fit:

Thinking of getting the Stokke Xplory, but need buggy board on it. Husband has pointed out that there is nowhere for the sons head to go with the bar in the way. Anyone know where sons head would go and where he'd hold onto when on their buggy board? I have a lascal 3g buggy board but it doesnt have good reviews on the Stokke Xplory and dont want to pay for the Xplory if the buggy board doesnt give son a comfortable ride???

cleobear · 24/01/2010 20:38

HI There,
Just wondered if katet79 had bought/used the stokke easyrider yet and what it was like. We have been desperate to find something for the stokke now that we are expecting again. However, although I can find links for the easyrider I can't actually find anywhere that sells it - even stokke don't mention it on their site!
Thanks

SweetApril · 24/01/2010 22:16

Looks like they sell it here, Cleobear. Haven't got the new buggyboard myself but I can def vouch for Lullabys - have bought lots from them in the past (including Stokke). They really know their stuff so it might be worth giving them a call and asking what it's like.

Sorry, the link doesn't work so well. Select "prams and pushchairs" on the left, then Stokke Xplory and scroll down.

cleobear · 26/01/2010 14:46

Thankyou so much for this - I'm going to have a go straight away!

cleobear · 26/01/2010 14:53

Just a quick update for anyone else outthere, have just telephoned Lullabys and they tell me that Stokke are receiving their Easyrider boards next week and will be shipping them out to their stockists probably the week after - here's to keeping my eyes peeled! Thanks again for the hint, I will definitely be purchasing from Lullabys.

For those of you with a pre 2010 Stokke I have just bought a Kid Sit from Kleine Dreumes (www.kleinedreumes.nl) and it works really well. You have to buy the adapter which creates a back axle for the kid sit to attach to. My Toddle loves it and it glides really easily. These is always a compromise though with any buggy board and that is the stride is affected. Overall though a great solution when there really wasnt one available.
