my dd has lasted nearly two years in her quinny speedi but I'm finding it no longer suits her. The back reclines too far, she can't get in and out of it easily, and its cumbersome.

I don't want to spend alot replacing it since we will probably only get another six months - one year use. What do you use or recommend for your mobile toddler?

Are you after a big pram or a little stroller?

For a big pram I have an 03 Sport 3 wheeler for my v.large 2.5YO and I love it, light as a feather to push but mahoosive even when folded. It sits up bolt straight too but can recline.

For something small 've just bought a Techno XT from Ebay for £50 and they come highly recommended for bigger toddlers.

I guess I want a stroller but not anything flimsy. Funnily enough I was looking at Maclaren Technos on ebay just now . I'm being a bit precious because I would love to be able to see them in person before bidding!

no I was looking at the cheaper one the CT 0.6 I think it is but its the same price and it suddenly occurs to me I can get a better buggy for cheaper

mckenzie · 14/01/2009 23:17

how much walking do you do though? The Mothercare Urban Detour was much easier for DS and DD to climb in and out of, very sturdy and a dream to push. The Maclaren I had in the back of the car for quick nips round the shops etc but it wasn't nice to push and narrower I think that the Urban Detour.

mamadiva · 14/01/2009 23:28

The Chicco Winter has a TINY seat. My friend has one for her 14MO and he practically hangs out of it

solidgoldsoddingjanuaryagain · 14/01/2009 23:37

McClaren Volo (I think it's called) is nice because it folds up and has a strap so you can actually carry it over your shoulder (OK not for that long or that far unless you are very robust) but it's a bearable stroller-type buggy to take around when you have a LO that's coming towards the end of buggy use.

nicolamumof3 · 15/01/2009 07:44

I would also recommend a volo, thats all you need for a toddler you don't need any other features look out for 2008 ones as they are still on sale for about £50ish the new 2009 are much more as they now have a slight lay back design no worth paying for for a 2yr old imo. may look flimsy but they are not, great maclaren quality will go on and on. and withstand a toddler.

mummyhill · 15/01/2009 07:50

My DS has destroyed 4 chicco strollers since he was 18 months. He has been walking everywhere since just before his 3rd birthday as I refuse to get another stroller. Some mums at school think it's cruel as we have a fair walk in the morning but he seems happy enough!

mamadiva · 15/01/2009 07:59

Most children dont mind the walk TBH its me who minds the walk more than anything takes forever to walk down the road but everywhere is a fair bit from us and hate using public transport all the time. Hes happy in pram so will stick for now Hehe.

AccidentalMum · 15/01/2009 07:59

See the heavy two year old thread

LazyLinePainterJane · 15/01/2009 08:08

My Chicco ct0.5 stroller only lasted about 2 years. Maybe some people think that is good use but I don't. All the plastic bits broke off, the clip that holds it together when folded, parts on the straps. Then one of the bars that make the legs of the stroller broke. Crapola/

nicolamumof3 · 15/01/2009 08:09

thats why its worth paying for maclaren imo they now have lifetime warranty as well.

kiwibella · 15/01/2009 09:21

I think at the most, we would need a buggy for another year. I didn't realise that Mclaren give lifetime guarantees - that's fab. Does anyone use the Mclaren volo. I've been reading an old thread about them.

nicolamumof3 · 17/01/2009 13:30

i would love to try a volo, but can't justify a third maclaren.

EldonAve · 17/01/2009 13:33

I have a Maclaren Quest
what about going to the kiddicare shop?

kiwibella · 19/01/2009 09:49

thanks Eldon... I think I need to go and test-drive buggies in mothercare and then come home and purchase from kiddicare . I have bought most of my baby stuff from them - they are great!
