Nantucket from Aspace

The white company

The first is much cheaper
The second has the top bunk high enough to allow an adult to sit on the bottom bed properly

Oooh that's a hard one. It does get on my nerves that I can't sit up on dd's bottom bed so if price is not an issue I'd go for the white co ones.

Hulababy · 13/01/2009 21:19

I'd go for the lower one. Just ordered bunk beds for DD actually, and they are of the lower level type ones.

I can only imagine how much hassle it would be to change the bedding on one of the higher ones.

i'd go for the first
bear in mind that the second one may be too tall for your room, unless you have highish ceilings.
only say that as a friend has a little bungalow with not partocularly high ceilings and she had to be careful when getting beds for her kids that they weren't too tall. (ie, the ikea highsleepers for example wouldn't have allowed the kids enough room to get in!)

actually, all joking aside, we have thuka beds (thankfully not bedecked in pink) and they're fab!

RiaParkinson · 13/01/2009 21:23

i like the nantucket one although we bought dd a bed from white company a good 8 years ago and it has been great

ds has these in turquoise i love them!

Yurtgirl · 13/01/2009 21:33

Thanks for you thoughts all

I am thinking about the nantucket as a)its cheaper b)if for some reason we need something different in 10 years time it wont matter so much iyswim

Another Q - Do the shelves you can get for the upper bunk fit on any bed?

OP posts:
thisisyesterday · 13/01/2009 21:36

which shelves?

Shitemum · 13/01/2009 21:38

IKEA does one that comes apart into two singles which might be good for the future when she 'grows out' of the bunk bed

Yurtgirl · 13/01/2009 21:39

um... hang on

Shitemum · 13/01/2009 21:39

We have ordered these ones. They seemed very sturdy in the shop and looked lovely. DD was very taken with them. They also come apart to make two singles.

Yurtgirl · 13/01/2009 21:45

SM - very similar! But dds needs to be white as the furniture in her room is all white

I have seen it Yurtgirl she would love it unfortunately DD2 also has to sleep in this bed, to let you understand DD2 she is 3 and for Christmas she asked Santa for a Hulk. I need a room for a Princess and a Hulk.

Yurtgirl · 13/01/2009 22:03

I like this one

This one is fab for siblings who need to share - with integral shelves - not cheap though
