I'm a TA and amongst other things I support a little boy with autism. He loves playing with play food, pretending to cook etc but he really want the one item i haven't got which is an apple.

Its such a simple thing but I really want to get him one, can't get any money from school funds at the mo so although I'm pretty broke myself I thought i'd get him one. Trouble is I can't find any cheap ones.

I found whole sets costing £15+ but can't really afford this, does anyone know anywhere good online that sells things like this? ideally as single items.

I have treid ebay and amazon but nothing on there at mo

I think I have a playfood apple I will look and send if I find it.

Asda had a playfood set for around 3.00 but I'm not sure if it had an apple.

ou could buy that playdough type stuff that dries out though

ComeWhineWithMe · 10/01/2009 16:11

this might be worth a look

bananapaddlepop · 10/01/2009 16:14

Meemoo,

I've got a whole box of it you can have? I'm happy to post it or you can pickup if you live in Surrey. It's the stuff from the early learning centre - whole plastic pieces of apple, broccoli, toast etc.

Do you want it?

I'm fed up with falling over it all day.

bananapaddlepop · 10/01/2009 16:14

Oh yes, I've got the apple too.

memoo · 10/01/2009 17:09

My email is [email protected]

Oh that's kind of you.

Truly you are doing me a favour, our friends gave it to dd for her birthday last year and she's never played with it, just tipped it all over the floor and then moved on. It drives me barmy.

I might need to do more than this to get into heaven....

Glad you got a kind netmummy to help out! Just for info, I got playfood in sainsburys the other day for 99p per netful and I also bought a wee shopping basket full of child-size sainsbury's groceries for £1.99 - bargain imo and ds loves playing with it!

VinoEsmeralda · 10/01/2009 22:20

JanieK and those little nets are now £0.49P each plus similar quality as ELC
