P&T for a 2year 4 month age gap - waste of money or invaluable

Due baby no.2 in March, thinking of putting an order in for a P&T Dash tomorrow, had a look at it today in my local shop. Thinking of buying one for a year then ebaying it and getting a new single buggy. DD is good at walking but very slowly. I live in a town centre so don't do lots of long walks but once a week we probably do and at the weekends and holidays.

I'm only 5ft and the baby is expected to be over 9lbs, so I find slings (although have bought a karime off ebay plus have an ergo) too heavy very quickly. I would have to buy a new single buggy anyway as my existing travel system is too heavy to push with one hand. So buggy/sling/buggyboard I'm not convinced is a good option.

Am I wasting my money or will I love my P&T?

I'd get it. I have a 2.0 year age gap and could not have gone without a double. Keep it nice and it'll eBay for lots of money.

I would have thought a P & T was quite a good option as you can use it as a single buggy too.

I have the same age gap (2.4)and I am still using my Phil and Teds now. DD1 is nearly 4 but it is a godsend when we are in a rush for nursery in the morning.

Im due baby no4 in March too and my ds3 will be 2 in 9 days time. We bought him a P&T in May '08 so we plan to use it as a double then when hes old enought to walk sensibly on his own we can go back to a single

I think they are great pushchairs

I have a 2.6 yr gap. We bought a cheap double buggy which was well used for about 6mths, then ds1 was gently'encouraged' to walk and we went back to a single buggy for ds2. Ds1 is now 3.10 and we havent used the double buggy for about 9 months. The cheapo version was just right for us, but if you can justify the p and T then get it because it is much easier to push!

Get it, especially if you want a new single buggy too, as you'll have that too.

I love mine and have a 23 month age gap

yes get it, 18m gap with my two and ds2 now 3.0yrs still sits in doubles when cold/tired or raining or in a rush!!! total lifesaver i messed about with cheaper options for a year before i succumbed to a p&t last summer, so wish i hadn't waited now!

check head room on doubles tho when using in newborn mode with doubles on front as heard there ar eissues with this for older toddlers?

DD can fit just about on the toddler seat with the baby underneath, a bit less room in the Dash than the Sport as the padding makes it a bit smaller, don't think I'll be able to recline it but DD rarely falls asleep in buggy anyway. As I have big babies don't think the baby will be in the cocoon part for more than 4 months so should be okay.

Sounds like I should get one - will send DH off to the shop to negotitiate.
