i am pg with number 2. dd will be about 18 months when i am due. am trying to wade through the mindfield of prams again. i have the mutsy 4 rider adn i am gutted to find that the double unit does not go on my wheels. i spent as much as i could on m first travel system thinking i can use for number 2 but it has not worked out as i fell i will need a double system. i would love a phil and teds but cant afford to shell out alot for another set of wheels. i have looked at the mclaren and sivercross pop side by side buggy things that say they are sutable for newborns but i cant see how. does any ne have any suggestions. dont want to spend more than about £200 as my dd1 will not use it for too long and then i can go back to my mutsy.

I have a Phil & Teds (single only but has the side paniers and a rain cover) that I want to sell. Been thinking about selling it for ages, but no idea what to charge for it. Im in the south east though...

bojangles, have you got any links/picures of the buggy you're selling?

i really don't want to give up my buggy as baby faces me so will try a sling for a bit with newborn, and don't know if i can manage with a proper, big, side by side pram.

was half heartedly looking at a cossatto tandem stroller that's just less than £200 but have just found the kids kargo tandem - but only in america with rediculous shipping costs. humph.

cosatto duet lite??? don't go there!!! i had that too, looks lovely and is comfy for lo's but impossibly heavy to push, get up kerbs and steer.

TheOtherMaryPoppinsDiets · 10/01/2009 09:28

fairimum could you link me to some reviews on the obaby P&T rip off please? I can't seem to find any

littleboyblue · 10/01/2009 12:33

nicola Don't say that, it's sitting in the cupboard ready!!!!!!

nicolamumof3 · 10/01/2009 12:34

what the cosatto duet lite?

littleboyblue · 10/01/2009 12:37

Yeah. We spent ages lookming at doubles, I don't like the p&t's, the handle bar is too low, and didn't want side by side for getting on the bus and the fighting when ds2 gets to sitting position and also figure that any pushchair with 2 lo's in there is gonna be heavy?
Please don't tell me I've made a huge mistake!!!!

nicolamumof3 · 10/01/2009 12:41

the p&t handle is adjustable low? on the sport?

i loved the look of the cosatto and i got a lovely red footmuff to make the back seat into a cosy cocoon, it was great to fold and store and looked fab just a nightmare to push, near on impossible with one hand also (if you have toddler who wants to get out and walk) the p&t i resisted for a year as kept saying didn't like) borrowed a friends a couldnt believe how light and easy was to push. if i was having my time over buying a double buggy i would have got a p&t from the outset or a mountain buggy (probably spent over £500 on double pushchairs anyway in the last 18m!)

littleboyblue · 10/01/2009 12:48

Oh dear. i went into MC and they let me put ds in the p&t and have a whizz around the store. I was amazed at how easy it was to push and control, but the handles even on the adjust meant I had to hunch especially when the attatchment goes on the back as can't stand close enough to stand straight.
I have been encouraging ds (17m) to walk as much as poss so will be a pain when he's walking and I ave to push any chair that's not p&t's.

nicolamumof3 · 10/01/2009 12:53

thats a shame im a shorty so handles are always ok for me especially as i like them high up too so never had a problem didn't find the cosatto too high even tho it is high up handles iykwim, well everyone is different you may love it?

littleboyblue · 10/01/2009 12:58

I hope so!!! The handles aren't as high as my single chair but they come further out iyswim.
Don't think anyone will ever find anything that 100% perfect in every sense so have to make comprimises some place don't we.

nicolamumof3 · 10/01/2009 13:00

thats right, there is always a compromise with a double, comfort you pushing, comfort for you child, weight, cost etc. the cosatto is v.cosy i got a lovely red footmuff for back from littlewoods for about £15 which then made it so cosy for newborn. when are you due?

littleboyblue · 10/01/2009 13:08

I'm due on 10th feb, so not long now thank god!
Ds has sat in the cosatto and loved it, he's never had a bar across so think he's g;lad of something to hold onto and bash! I don't like him being that far away from me though, might take a bit of getting used to, and shame weather is so poor as won't really be able to take hood off. The back does look nice and cosy too, I have a grey footmuff I bought before ds was born but have never used it, the back does look a bit cramped when you put it to sitting though, but hopefully ds will be walking more then and I can go for single and buggy board

nicolamumof3 · 10/01/2009 13:12

does your ds ever nap in puschair as did have that prob too with mine, did you say he's 17m? mine was 18m when ds3 was born. good luck yes not long now!

littleboyblue · 10/01/2009 13:17

Yeah, ds often naps if we're out for a long time, and obviously there's no recline so it might look like his head is about to fall off! Over the past few months, I've stopped reclining his pushchair so he gets used to a nap sitting up in preperation.
We'll see what happens. Thanks for advice though
