Peter Rabbit Bottles

Up until a few days ago Asda stocked a line of Peter Rabbit anti-colic baby bottles. After trying various Avent and Playtex ones I fell in love with these, they were great! They are angled and have a valve at the bottom to let the air out while baby is feeding (hence the anti-colic bit). But we didn't discover them with our first child until she was about a year old and only needed one or two bottles a day.

Now we've got baby number 2 on the way and I was so excited to buy a whole set of them to use from the beginning. But of course I didn't want to start buying baby things too soon as I'm not due till June. Well, to cut a long story short, Asda have stopped doing them. I was able to get a few they had left in the stock room but I'm desperately looking for more. Problem is I've never seen them anywhere else. I've tried all over the internet, including the official peter rabbit webiste.

Has anyone else ever come across them and know where I might be able to get them? I'd be happy to order them from states if I knew where.

Thanks!

Ooh, I am pretty sure I saw these in my local chemist the other day, I will have a look tomorrow.

I'm sure I saw some today on a rare visit to a large town - have you tried Woolworths? Trying to remember where I went toady - perhaps Sainsburys? Good luck

I am wondering if you could get the manufactuers information from the few that you bought and could contact them asking who they supply them to.

I saw them advertised on the net one day whilst I was browsing... not sure where it was, but it might be worth having a look.

Thanks woozle but those aren't the ones I was looking for. The ones I want are called 'anti-colic bottles'. They have a removable bottom with a rubber disk that lets the air out while baby is drinking.

And thanks Enid for the tip about the chemist - I don't know why I didn't think of it as my husband is a pharmacist! I asked him to check with his suppliers and it seems they are no longer being stocked by anyone. I guess they've been discontinued by the manufacturer.

I've managed to track down a few more from Asda however and now have 6 small and 5 large ones - ideally I wanted another one or two large - but that should be enough.

Thanks everyone for the tips.

Ryayne - you might like to look at the anti-colic bottles called Dr Brown's - if I remember correctly. They have them in mothercare and they have a special anti-colic valve up the center of the bottle. Proven to reduce ear infection.

mears · 24/03/2003 19:34

Rkayne - just checked. They are called Dr Brown's natural Flow bottles.
You can see them on the mother care site www.mothercare.co.uk. Click on the feeding section then bottles.

I use the Doc Browns bottles since giving up b/f. A bit more of a faff than ordinary bottles (i.e. the valve inside beeds taking out before heating), but they are very good...
