Where can I buy boys' dungarees - need 3yrs old not baby sizes

DS has the simultaneous problems of falling-down trousers and rather over-enthusiastic "fiddling" - think dungarees would solve both problems.

Only online ones I've found are La Redoute/Vertbaudet - does anybody know where I might buy some on the high street?

horsemadgal · 28/12/2008 21:12

I saw some in Next sale ages 3-4 and 4-5.

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 28/12/2008 21:14

These are horrendously impractical unless your child is in nappies or well past toilet training.

Wolfcub · 28/12/2008 21:16

found some decent ones in next the other day we got 2-3 be it looked like they stocked bigger sizes

thisisyesterday · 28/12/2008 21:16

do you think? ds1 wears them a lot. even during toilet training.
he just slips his arms out and pulls them down. much easier than trying to undo buttons on jeans and stuff

Tommy · 28/12/2008 21:17

Gap

loveingigglypiggly · 28/12/2008 21:27

Found these the other day www.thelittlenuttree.co.uk

They will make larger sizes if you ask.

blithedance · 28/12/2008 21:38

yes I've thought about the toileting thing, but if they have those traditional dungaree clips rather than buttons, he should be able to slip them off himself and there will always be someone to help him put them up. At the moment he constantly has a hand either down the front of his trousers, or the back trying to hitch them up (he is very, very skinny).

thanks for all the suggestions, I will try and get lucky in the sales!

jojomamambebe have some boys cord ones

thisisyesterday · 28/12/2008 21:58

blithedance, I hate to tell you this but they don't stop the fiddling lol

boys just do that.

nicolamumof3 · 28/12/2008 22:21

i also have v.skinny boy and unless very good adjustable waists we have the same problem, constantly pulling up trousers. i was thinking of getting some braces, but also love dungarees! def gap and next do age 3+

blithedance · 28/12/2008 22:35

He can fiddle from the outside then! I wasn't expecting to stop it (not after 2 boys) but just to kind of make it a bit less obvious/easy.

OP posts:
thisisyesterday · 28/12/2008 22:38

nah he'll just stick his hand down the side lol

blithedance · 28/12/2008 22:45

Well yes probably! boys, we love 'em.

Well, H&M, Gap and Next all sold out . A footsore day shopping has yielded only some baby ones from John Lewis that are a generous 18-24, so maybe a month or two's use in them.

Zara's size 18-24m are fairly generous too. I have a pair of pale blue cord ones that i could measure for you if you're interested?

Also have a pair of gymboree ones that he's wearing at the mo that I think are 2-3yr. They may be available soon too.

thisisyesterday · 30/12/2008 23:04

check boots.
ours had loads in today, and lots in the sale

blithedance · 30/12/2008 23:53

Thanks TIY and Janie. I might take you up on it. DS is 94cm tall and stick thin .

(tries to remember nearest Boots that does clothes).

Theirmum · 30/12/2008 23:56

have you thought of braces a lot easier for him

thisisyesterday · 30/12/2008 23:56

ooh and of course ebay

whyme2 · 31/12/2008 00:02

braces are the way forward IMO. I can't find dungerees for my skinny boy either.

PTA · 31/12/2008 00:32

Boots had nice ones in the sale as previously mentioned and I saw some in Asda as well but that was a few weeks ago.

nappyaddict · 31/12/2008 02:20

boots
gap
next
osh kosh

giraffescantdancethetango · 31/12/2008 02:29

this time last year mothercare had them.

blithedance · 31/12/2008 16:47

Thanks, nappyaddict, I can see a pattern emerging here! Osh Kosh was one of my first thoughts but their clothes are sooo wide.

DS has got the John Lewis ones on today and looks a lot more comfortable and also dead cute!

Had my eye on ebay but was overcome by WANTING THEM RIGHT NOWWWW! in a crazed mother kind of way
