Lightweight buggy that enables child to sit completely straight

Hi there, I am looking for a buggy that doesn't weight more than 6.5Kg and allows a toddler to sit completely straight. Initially I was looking at the Petite Star Zia as it seems to fit the bill perfectly in terms of price, look, and weight, but it looks like the most upright position is not straight enough. No Maclarens please! Any advice would be most appreciated. Thanks

Would you like a recline as well?

Sorry, but Maclaren Volo would fit. Zapp is upright but heavier.

Coldtits · 27/12/2008 13:20

graco Citilite

Cheeseycheese · 27/12/2008 13:49

Coldtitits, The Graco Citilite looks like it might be suitable but I can't find anywhere that sells it.

AccidentalMum, a recline would be a bonus but not a must have. I already have the Maclaren Volo which I find suitable for VERY short trips only as it is extremely uncomfortable, my toddler slouges in it.

Thank you both

i LOVE maclarens so wouldn't recommend any other im afraid (and i've had a few!) for lightweight and sitting straight up. good luck in search!

Silver cross fizz (very like volo but has snooze recline), peite star zia is sooooo flimsy and poor quality don't waste your money on it.

I have never been a Maclaren fan (waves to Nicola who loves them) but now my dd is nearly 2 and very tall and quite a lump I am finding they are the best. Any what I call 'cheap' umnbrella fold are either heavy or such poor quality that I keep going back to Maclaren even though they are rattley.

I do love silver cross but they tend to be heavier. The dazzle is FANTASTIC but does weigh 7kg, feels very light to push, very comfy and does sit bolt upright through to flat.

nicolamumof3 · 27/12/2008 15:33

didn't like the fizz in RL i think the handles would quickly discolour too. i would like a black frame/lime volo personally. but i have two macs already!!!

I've got a pushchair very similar to the graco citilite I could get out and check for you. I've also got a baby jogger city mini which from memory is very upright, and weight 17lbs so 7.7kgs but will fit up to 5 years old, lays flat etc.

naomi83 · 27/12/2008 17:21

bebe confort vit, weighs 4kg, 1 hand push, 1 hand fold, very upright, but no recline and only a tiny basket. we bought ours off ebay but kiddicare sells them too

Cheeseycheese · 27/12/2008 19:50

SleighGirl, if you have a similar model to Graco Citilite, I'd love to know what it is because I can't find the Citilite anywhere. Naomi83, the Bebe Confort Vit looks great; would I be able to fit a buggyboard on it?

I'm selling mine if you are interested - it's by safety first I think & is plain red with a raincover £20 plus post, actually you will be having problems because it is the mothercare citilite, graco citisport & citisport plus.

The confort Vit does look great but I'm not sure about the buggy board on it?

I had a buggy board on the back of a citisport that I had and still have a buggy board do could try it on my red one if you like - I have that to sell too!! On the citisport it was fab as the whole thing folded up with the buggy board attached and went in the boot of my car!

Cheeseycheese · 28/12/2008 13:48

Thanks SleighGirl but I am not looking to buy secondhand. Is this the pushchair you're refering to? www.mothercare.com/Graco-Citi-Sport-Pushchair-Miami/dp/B000QTKTX8/ref=sr_11_1/276-8226486-954 9566?_encoding=UTF8&mcb=core#customerReviews

that didn't bring up a product when I pasted the link in, I found the graco one on ebay here cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-GRACO-MIAMI-PINK-CITISPORT-STROLLER-PUSHCHAIR-BUGGY_W0QQitemZ370133098106QQcmdZVi ewItemQQptZUKBabyBabyTravelPushchairsGL?hash=item370133098106&trksid=p3286.c0.m14&trkparms=66% 3A2%7C65%3A2%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318 Argos used to sell a slightly larger one called the Kite, not sure if they still do though.

I am now looking at the Baby Jogger City Mini. Not sure I could fit a buggyboard though? Anyone know?

OP posts:
SleighGirl · 29/12/2008 19:42

I think you can, the head room for the toddler would be okay but not roomy IYSWIM.

pushchair · 29/12/2008 20:02

How about this ?

Cheeseycheese · 29/12/2008 22:55

Pushchair, I really like the Graco Mosaic Milano but it is heavy at 8.5Kg. I have finally decided on the Babby Jogger City Mini, I just need to find a suitable raincover as it is not included. Should I buy the branded Baby Jogger raincover or would any 3-wheeler raincover do? Thanks everyone.

DoNotTellDH · 30/12/2008 12:55

They have large hoods so I'm not sure.

carrielou2007 · 30/12/2008 17:57

A standard size 3 wheeler raincover will be much too big (thinking mothercare 3 wheelers, mountain buggy etc) but not sure if one for a zapp or zia would be big enough!! I would buy the branded one as you know it will fit exactly.

Cheeseycheese · 03/01/2009 23:31

Cheers
