Nursing bras - Where can I get a decent one????

I've just been to Mothercare and the selection was hopeless. I need an F cup, and they were all the wrong shape. Does anyone know where I can get adecent one? And I heard a rumour that someone sells an underwired nursing bra, has anyone else heard that?

i thought mothercare particularly useless too. was very happy withthe ones i had fitted in allders. for my second child i wore an g cup. but for third had to get an h.
i guess the allders advice isnt much good anymore, but i imagine debenhams is probly much the same, or john lewis. there is a make that specialises in them, just cant remember what is called.
also, if you dont mind ordering online, i remember seeing some very funky looking ones on the natural parenting website.

I would recommend the Elle McPherson maternity bras. Not underwire but v supportive and not ugly and come in great colours incl Black and lavender.

I've just been having a little look, that underwired one that Irishbird did the link to looks great, blooming marvellous do it cheaper, but they don't do an F cup which is very annoying!

I thought I'd looked at the ones in Asda, so I'll have another look, and take a trip to John Lewis.

possible idiotic question here, but how do you work out what size to buy? i've got five weeks to go, but can just about still fit in pre-preg bras (36/38c).

i'm assuming there will be some growth when milk comes, but how much? have got one bra from active birth centre, which has plenty of room, but all the others i've seen are really strictly sized. what to do? one cup size bigger?

the fitter at John Lewis told me to come in for a fitting at 37 weeks plus. They then measure you and add two cups sizes on for when the milk comes in. They go down a bit from the actual chest measurement (or whatever you call it - the 34-38 bit) as they say that reduces once the bump is gone.Always worth having a bigger, comfier bra (like the ABC one) for the first few days/week when your boobs will possibly be completely gi-normous before they settle down.

Also, I found it invaluable having a really soft, almost unsupportive crop top type bra for sleeping in. You need something to hold the breast pads in while you are in bed, but if you're anything like me you don't want frills and flounces on that, just something really light and unconstraining. I just got a little crop top thing from M&S for that this time around, in a very pretty pink...I don't have massive boobs though (once the milk settles that is) so that idea might not suit those of you in need of more support

I found most of the generally available ones did not go big enough or weren't supportive in the big sizes. Bravissimo (www.bravissimo.com) is a company specialising in D cup and above - and they have a couple of nursing bras. Website and a few shops around the country. Theirs was my favourite at my biggest size.

I also found the crop-tops/"sleep bras" no good at night as I fell out sideways when lying on my side... so wore the sports-bra shape one (think they call it Vitality) from the NCT (www.nctms.co.uk)

Fishie, I would advise against buying too many before baby arrives... my size kept changing for quite a while. NCT deliver very quickly with free returns so you can figure out what fits without spending ages in shops with baby.
