Please help me find the perfect stay on mittens for my 15month old son - do they exist!

I can't waste anymore money on useless ones that I either can't get on him or he has off in less than 2 seconds! Poor mites hands are going to snap off if they get any colder - and mittens on a string don't work - just means they dont' fall on the floor when pulled off!

Have you tried magic mittens? They are quite small and snug so less easy to pull off. I had some wool ones for DD last winter but I've lost them so I've just ordered some off Ebay. They are acrylic ones unfortunately but at only £2 for 3 pairs you can't go wrong.

the celtic sheepskin company does puddies which are cute and v warm.

Thank you ladies for answering my desperate cry!

Foxy - do you think the baby puddies will be ok for a 15 month old? It says one size but doesn't really indicate the age they go up to. Also - you don't by chance have a promo code? !

They seem quite a good price for sheepskin...

I think it will fit a 15 mo old. no, no promo code. it will make a sweet gift for someone else if they don't but I feel pretty sure it will. they are v. v. soft.

Just got this promo code for free postage until the 19th December: CE5408. The booties are lovely too.

Put socks on his hands (honestly), you can hike them up to his elbows then put his coat on - no more cold hands. Works a treat.

Thanks guys, I actually managed to find some woolly magic mitts with string on and so far so good. I think the key thing (obviously, doh!) is to get them on and well up his hand before the coat goes on....

You'd think I'd never had a child before.

Hi, What are magic mittens, where do i find them - I've googled them and can't find anything? thanks

paolosgirl · 05/01/2009 21:21

Don't buy puddies - DS aged 21 months has them off just as quickly as every other pair he owns. They do look cute though...

The sock thing is a fab idea, def. going to give that a go. If that doesn't work, magic mittens sound good - can someone post a link please? Thanks

mejon · 05/01/2009 22:59

Newmum07 - here are the ones I got - 3 pairs for £2.50 mittens

MatNanPlusAbroad · 05/01/2009 23:01

socks first then mittens and then coat, double the warmth and they stay on until you remove them.
