MACLAREN QUEST OR TECHNO?

Is there a difference? We've got Quest - purely because it was on special offer in Tescos

I don't know much about the quest & techno, but I have a triumph for my ds2 & have been very pleased with it!
He has used it without any problems since he was 5 months old (he is now 2) & it has had more use than any other pushchair I have owned. (I have quite a collection!)
It is much lighter than my pliko & far easier to fold in a hurry!
It is nice to push, easy to fold, reclines easily and is a good price.
Can definitely reccomend it!!!

i have a pliko already forgot to mention that! looking for something easier to deal with! looked in mothercare today and triumph seems a little narrow

heard about this pants breaks business! how bad is it?! will be on the bus quite a bit and they can take those corners fast!

I have a Quest. I bought it because the Techno was about a kilo heavier (feel free to correct me on that!) and I use it on the bus and tube, so wanted it as light as possible. However, I thought the Triumph (which is lighter) looked a bit uncomfy for a little baby as it doesn't have an extendable leg rest.

DS was nearly 6 months when he went in it (the Techno is suitable from birth, the Quest from 3 months I think). We have the Maclaren cosytoe and he seems really comfy in it.

The Volo (lighter still) doesn't recline and looked really uncomfy.

I got my Quest from kiddicare for £35 cheaper than Mothercare (was £64.99 when Mothercare are £100 I really like my buggy!

I also use the bus quite a bit, but don't use the brakes on my buggy - I stand up and hold onto it instead! I'd never rely on buggy brakes on a bus!

The brakes on the Quest are a bit difficult to use (especially with shopping on the buggy handles as you can't see what you're doing!), but I hardly ever use them as I don't often leave DS unattended on slopes

I don't think I ever had cause to use the brakes on my Quest, probably because I'm too lazy, and never saw the need as I always made sure I was holding on to the buggy - and I used it lots on the bus and the train as well. My dh used them though, and had no problems with them.

Whereabouts are you, babyburps? If you're anywhere near North Birmingham you could come and try my Quest out if you wanted to.

hunkermunker we meet again! well its just the balance isn't it, ds's comfort and my back! think i may well opt for the quest as it seems to fit the bill...would be nice to know i had breaks tho, just for emergency breakage situations. i quite often do an hour bus ride, i'd like to be able to perhaps grab the seat near the buggy and keep one hand on it having a little faith in the brakes as well!

I think if I was on the bus an hour, I'd make sure the brakes were on properly, then sit down They're fine if you have a moment to make sure they're on properly (try them out in Mothercare, then order from kiddicare!).

oh thats ever so kind of u wigwambam but i'm in london so its a bit far. just trying to make the right decision, have quite a few baby bits that are driving me mad with there 'ways'...e.g my highchair without a removable tray that i have to fight ds into!

Awww! We went to the duck pond and Great Barn last weekend with DS - when it was still winter!
