Off to buy ds next stage car seat this weekend, can anyone recommend (or advise against one).

It will mostly be used in our renault laguna.

Thanks!

we have a bebe confort one which dh liked cause its a little bit gadgety - can be wound up or down to change position and head rest bits go out as the lo gets older.

We mostly forget to use the gadgets now - but the isofix is useful.

Thanks conker was wondering wether the isofix was useful or not and if it spends most of the time in the same car does it make much difference.

am no expert but i think the isofix is the safest way to have the car seat in because its fixed to the body of the car, rather than by straps. I think one of the reasons is a lot of people misfit them using the straps (so your point about if they are in the same car does it matter if they are correctly fitted in the first place) - I think its just extra safe.

It also has an idiots guide to fitting so while you never quite know its properly fitted with straps, the indicator goes green when you fit the isofix correctly.

i got a strap fitting one for ds in the first size, but now i have isofix, i wouldnt go back.

and the seat has only moved once out of our car since fitting, but i'm still happier with the extre safety of the isofix.

Britax freeway - cheap (think its about to be discontinued you can get it for around £40-50.) but was definitely the most comfortable for DS. Its not Isofix - Although we only have one car we did find that we often have to take it out for Grandma's car/ friends lifts etc and it is really light. Very easy to fit using straps - even I (all thumbs) managed it. I like Britax stuff - got a pushchair - it all seems quite sturdy.

My dd has maxi cosi tobi and have been very happy with it.

Only down side is she often gets her arms out of the harness if she is wearing thin clothing so i tend to need to strap her in quite tight.

Thanks for the replies, does any one have the maxi cosy priori? any good?

We have maxi cosi priorifix and really pleased with it. Very solid fit, reclines easily and has handy little "hooks" to hold the straps in place and out of the way while you put LO in the seat. It is heavy with the isofix though so bit of a pain if moving between cars a lot but we only do this on the odd occasion into grandad's car.

We've got the maxi cosi tobi and I have to say it's been brilliant. Absolutely solid as a rock but still easy to move between cars, good and easy to access recline and ds has seemed very comfy in it.
