Toddlerhawk: To minkee or not to minkee?

Really want a Toddlerhawk. Local stockist does a lovely basic one for about £55, for the same price I could get a deluxe Minkee-lined one shipped from America.

So the considerations are:
*Will the Minkee be too hot in summer?
*Will DS be uncomfortable without it?
*Do I want to wait an extra two weeks?

IMO
Minkee MUCH too hot in summer
And he won't mind without it - he's all cuddled close to you, and you can put him in a coat/thick jumper/whatever if you're worried he's chilly.

I'd get the one you want and not mind the 2 weeks - time is easily forgotten, a sling you're not happy with is with you for a long time.

Don't forget you could (well) get charged import duty though!

I like reversing mine, and don't like the edge effect of the Minkee.

For 50 quid I could flog you a lovely, brand new unused one that is the result of their mess up in my custom order and reorder (long story). And it would be with you on Monday....

Thanks for the tips, I think Minkee probably isn't right for us then.

Cnut, tell me more... colours etc?

ds won't be uncomfy without it.
it will be too hot in summer

but i would def order from them direct because then you can get a custom reversible one made up instead

Its black strapped, XL straps, with Asian blue dragon one side, and flame opulence the other. Its a great looking sling, and very DH friendly (its the one that my DH uses, except ours has sapphire opulence as the reverse to the dragon), and looks good with everything

If you CAT me, I can email pics

Sounds v nice. Am just wondering, will the straps be too long? I'm a size 10-12 and will be the only one using it as DH just doesn't feel right wearing them.

Did you use to be cmotdibbler, BTW? I read your name wrong the first time and thought you were...

I have a babyhawk with regular straps and find them very long, they're much longer than my cwtshi and I have to wrap them round me again. am size 12-14

cmotdibbler · 21/11/2008 20:23

Yes - I was just name changing after someone read my name wrong and decided I was cnut.

I'm a 12, although 5'9, and I do need an XL strap to do a back carry with a lexi twist, and crossed front straps, for my toddler. In fact I sold a TTTH that I really liked because although I could do it up, it was a bit tight. Without the lexi it wasn't a problem, but I need the support with DS being the size he is.
