jofeb04 · 15/03/2005 15:55
Hiya all,
My ds will be about 19 months old when our 2nd child is born. However, we really dont know whats best the best pushchair to buy!
Would anyone in the same situation or been in it(!) advise a tandum, twin, or keep the one we currently have, and use a board for ds???

He will probably be a tad young for a buggy board so I would probably get a "good value" double buggy (don't know what make though although personally I wouldn't shell out £300+ notes for a trendy buggy that is only going to be used for a matter of months!)

Hi, I've been lookin' round for tandem pushchairs, I'm expecting 2nd in Oct. 'Kidz Kargo' tandem double buggies and 'Marco Sky's' are quite nice, that I've seen so far anyway.
Have a look on ebay, even if not to buy, there are LOADS of ideas, and they're all explained very well.
hamster · 15/03/2005 16:07
oh and if you look on ebay, look under 'double buggies' not 'double pushchairs', for some reason that's what they're under!
jofeb04 · 15/03/2005 16:21
Would the double buggy be used for long? Sorry, dont know what ds will be like around two? How far will the walk etc. I know all kids are different, but as hes our 1st, we're not really sure.
What you advise twin or tandum?
jofeb04 · 15/03/2005 16:24
and would you buy one from ebay if its not being used for that long?
hamster · 15/03/2005 16:28
I'm going for tandem, because I just think it'd be easier for what I need.Might consider twin if I see a really compact one, just my front door is SO narrow! ds will be 15 months when new baby comes, and I expect we'll be using double pushchair for quite a while. I think up until prob 2.5-3yrs. I don't know for sure, my first too!

We bought our travel system for ds from ebay, and had no probs. It was hardly used and over half the retail price...I'm keeping my eyes peeled on ebay, there seems to be lots of bargains!

Another e3 vote here, purely for the reasons that it can be reused as a single afterwards and is only the size of a single pushchair.

I have 19 mth gap between my two (youngest is 2 now) and have thought about and researched it a lot and STILL wish that we went down the E3 route. We have done board instead, which is good in some ways as it is cheaper and does encourage walking, but has been a bit of a false economy in terms of comfort to push. We do have quite a few 'but it is my turn to ride in the pram' sort of discussions, which can be a pain.
I think it depends on a) how much you walk everyday and thus need a comfort pushchair b) how good a walker your ds is.
Best of luck.

I'm exactly the same as Jofebo4. My DD will be 19 months old when our second child is born I have been looking at Tandems at the Phil and Ted. By big concern about the E3 is that it looks as though the baby is practically on the floor! How do you put them in it? This is probably a really stupid question and maybe it's best if I go and see the buggy in the flesh rather than pictures on the web.
Please all E3 owners tell me all about it.
