spy camera for nanny watch

Hello
i recently bought a few of these miniature spy cameras that people are using to watch on a new nanny when they aren't home, just to make sure the child is safe. I got them for a real bargain but had to buy 4 and only need 1! If someone needs one my cost was only $60 USD and i have 3 extras, brand new in original box. They are color cameras and also have a microphone. Please e-mail me at [email protected] if you would like more info. Thank you.

I am sure that you have informed your nanny that you are doing this, if not, it is illegal to secretly film someone without their consent. That's why stores have to display signs saying, Caution CCTV may be used in here etc.

Most nannies don't have a problem with this, but it does give them a feeling of lack of trust in them as your childcarer and can make them feel uncomfortable. You may lose a good nanny. I am sure that you have your reasons for doing so, but be careful that you abide by the rules.

Er... does this sound like someone using mumsnet as a business opportunity or am I just naturally suspicious???

On a similar but different subject, what about people like Jeremy Beadle, he used to record someone while sending them up. Was this illegal?

oxocube · 07/03/2003 12:02

Boring, boring, boring (and just on the off chance that this is not an opportunity for a bit of sneaky free advertising, very insulting, offensive and an infringement of personal liberties)

SofiaAmes · 07/03/2003 22:00

I have to say, I never quite understood the concept of videoing your nanny. Why on earth would you leave your children alone with someone that you didn't trust totally and completely?

SofiaAmes · 07/03/2003 22:02

Though I was thinking one of those nannycams would be really handy for taping my dh (with his consent of course) while he is promising to be more helpful around the house and always put his dirty socks in the laundry.

Bekki · 07/03/2003 22:08

I might just be speaking for myself here but I'm sure if you showed a tape of me and my son on a normal day to my mum she would be horrified. Tense always look worse when your not in the moment. Perhaps watching these tapes might make you obsessive and over critical.

Back to the original posting from nannywatch, am I being thick, but why spy on a nanny when they are not there.

katierocket · 10/03/2003 18:23

Definitely a dodgy covert advert.
