We are off to the beach in about four weeks - first time dd (7mths) will be in a pool or the ocean. We are looking at the floating seats. I see Boots have one and we have been looking at one from Kooshies called baby float seat.

ANyone have any experience with any of this or ones similar?? Going shopping tomorrow to Bluewater to see what I can buy?

Thanks

We got one from Boots to use in a swimming pool and dd loves it! It is a bit tricky getting in her in and out - its a two person job! Its really nice because you both can look at your baby and interacy with him/her.

we had one for both kids - can't remember the make - I think it was Wet Set, but they are very good. They are great as you don't have to hold the baby all the time, but you can cuddle them in it if they want reassurance, and you can always take them in and out at will.

Mothercare and ELC do them. I think they are all roughly the same. We had one for DS which he absolutely loved, he's now progressed onto armbands. It just gives them re-assurance in the water, especially if mummys feet keep slipping on the bottom of the pool and keep dunking you in by mistake!! (Shouldn't I be saying that on the bad mums thread?)

thanks so much - will check out those places and see what I come up with.

No furball, that's being a Good Mother and making sure your child doesn't mind being dunked. (do
I sound convincing??)

Our baby swim seat came from Tescos I think.

We used one for dd when she was under 1. It proved most useful when we went to a hotel with water of uniform depth such that I could just stand comfortably and she could still enjoy a splash which I could not have otherwise contemplated. ds had a ducking aged 6 months in far shallower water when dh slipped.

Now she would wriggle too much to be placed in it ! Ours was the Floaties one (2 sizes available), but they seem pretty much the same.

thanks for all your information - bought one from boots today - exactly like the floaties one but a little cheaper. Can't wait to put dd in her swimmers and in the pool on holidays to see how cute she looks!!
